Chips: 5,690 | | | Tough decision My husband's birthday is January 31.
I placed his 1000 chip ASM order already, and have finalized the artwork. However, they haven't started production yet because of all the Christmas orders, but have promised to have it finished by his birthday.
Cathy told me yesterday that I could change my order to the 2 spot edges, since they haven't started yet; but that since they aren't starting production until January, and doesn't know how it will go, she can't guarantee they will be done it time.
Do I do it anyway? I have stashed $1400 from poker winnings over the last couple months for his birthday, so I think I can cover the cost. I don't know if I should or not. It's a bit extra money, but I don't know if I should gamble with the time. Opinions? Presumably I'd have to get back to her pretty quickly. |

If one denom is a little late, then sure, it would be a bummer, but you would still have something to give him. I like the idea of mixing different edge spot designs and even some solids into the lower denom positions for a set. |

Better yet, get a chip case with pictures of the mockups so he can at least open something. I'd rather have the better chips and wait a month then get the 2nd best chips and not have to wait a month. I'm sure he'd understand once you explain the details, I would. |

You can get creative and wrap some samples - I have a feeling he won't mind getting the goods a few weeks late -
Go with some of the chips multi edge spots.

I've found most good companies try to accomodate reasonable requests, and I've seen plenty of positive comments on pc.com on here (not to mention their giving us first crack at the 3D14s).

I'd much rather have a mock-up of cooler chips and wait... you're going to enjoy them for a long, long time so get the ideal set.

Chips: 533 | | | Re: Tough decision Get him the PERFECT chip, in your opinion. He should appreciate that much more and I think he will not only be totally pumped up about the custom chips, but he will most likely not mind having a couple weeks to sit around and day dream about them...
So, if you like the double spots the best - there shouldn't be a question about what you choose. (I wanted to try that face out) |
