Custom Chip help needed

Sorry if this from Custom Chips 101, Im new. Someone has asked a favor of me and they want to get a custom set of chips made for someone as a gift. They want a picture/design on one side and just lettering on the other. I was thinking the same thing needed to be on both sides of the chip but maybe im wrong. What price can I expect for this and where is a good place to start looking. Im also assuming that we would have to create the design ourselves? Thanks in advance for the help.

That is going to depend upon where you are getting the chip from. Various vendors have artwork services available if you aren't able to supply the artwork, of if your artwork needs adjustments before it can be used. The price will vary depending upon retailer, manufacturer, and the level of artwork labor required on their part. It's also possible that your friend may be thinking of labels on a more affordable chip as well, you'll need to get that clarified as labels can be a relatively low cost alternative to a custom inlay. Also, some of the compression molded ship manufacturers may not be able to do photos.

A good place to start would be to read the Articles on this site. There are several about custom chips and custom labels.

You can have a different label or inlay on each side of the chips, if you want.

Then, you can a) work directly with a vendor for the graphics, b) do the graphics yourself, or c) enlist the contributions of the members here. Whichever way you go, it would be a good idea to post some ideas or mockups here since the members are so good at providing feedback and suggestions.
