i'm trying to follow along with matthew's custom inlay article, and i just can't do it.

i'm working with photoshop 5, and it seems like a completely different progam than what he's describing...

help?

here's the chip pic i wanted to use:


what i wanted to do:
a traditional casino looking inlay, a la rouvalis, bellagio, et cetera...

lil text (offset to the left):
The
Big text (cursive font):
Feldman
lil text (offset to the right):
Basement

plus denomination (somewhere)
i'm not married to the basement thing...i just don't want casino, or club, or card room, or anything like that.

please oh please help?

That is without it costing a fortune?
Denom looks out of place for some reason as well, maybe put denom on other side with "The Feldman Basement circling the chip instead.

hey thanks, austin! i think i like the idea of having the denom on the same side as the text, the diamond thingies look like space fillers (b/c that's what they are!)

can we do anything with text arcing to make it look a little more smooth?

What made you think of that design? and what if you circled the chip instead of the lines above and below the text? Might be just me hard to not want certain things on the chip to be curved.
Once again I think its going to cost you a lot to match the print color to the chip color.(but that is just a guess on my part)

I'm just using the chip color because it looks good. If it needs to be the same for all chips, not a problem.

But thats the best looking one so far.

it does look better, indeed.

but i still think that with the inlay split over the two sides, each side looks a little...barren.

Not sure about this one. I like the border, but having to shrink the main text, it almost feels like the denom overpowers it.
