Chips: 1 | | | Mini-mini Review on New (non-chipco) denominated Tikis from Acehighsupply Well, about 2 minutes after receiving a PM from Puzzle Monkey about these new tikis I put in an order for a sample set.
this was last friday.
my chips arrived today.
So on shipping promptness A++++
Now on to the good stuff, the chips:
Pros:
Graphic quality on the face of the chip is great, more "crispy" then my NJ Skulls; pretty darn close to a chipco and no white ring! A
Feel, exellent A
Price A+
Cons
Edge Quality is great too, except for the injection dimple whish is HIGLY visible.. B-
Weight: just holding 7 of these you can tell that they weigh less than 7 NJ skulls. B+
sorry folks, no pics as i lost my digi a couple of months ago.
Overall I give these chips an B+/A-
(keep in mind i give my pharaohs an A+ and my NJ Skulls an A-) |

I'll throw them on the precision balance at work and see what these babies weigh. I'll compare them to mspatton's business card chip.

This is a surprise - I had no idea PM was doing this. Granted I haven't checked the thread either.
Samples ordered. But what are these chips made of? Ceramic or plastic? |

Chips: 265 | | | Re: Mini-mini Review on New (non-chipco) denominated Tikis from Acehighsupply I thought all ceramics are really just plastic and something else mixed to make them harder? |

Ceramic Construction
CHIPCO ProTech™ Series manufacturing methods ensure uniform construction, consistent 10-gram weight, matte finish and a permanent graphic image. This attention to quality assures excellent dealer feel for shuffling, cutting, counting and handling. Using a single material composition eliminates weak points inherent in other manufacturing methods. CHIPCO ProTech™ Series chips will not break apart or wear thin.
| That's why I didn't claim anything specific about the Ace High chips' composition. I assume they are themselves a "composite ceramic" material. The point is, they're not plastic like dice/suited chips or NexGens. |

I don't think it matters much. I've heard that Dice chips could be referred to as "composite chips" because the plastics they use are some sort of composite. The only way to tell anything is to actually get samples and handle them. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
