While I've gotten this far, I'm really at a loss as far as design goes. I'm thinking maybe something to match the color of the pool balls (example: yellow $1 chip for 1 ball, etc.) Denominations can go where the numbers should be. Problem with that is it only takes us up to $15 if we follow that scheme. Also, a fantasy type name would be great.. I was thinking something like "the green room" an homage to the green felt that lays on top of pool and poker tables (and of course the money).
Any CTers have any ideas? I'd be willing to work out and administer a group buy if there was enough interest from designers and the like. In the spirit of collaboration, I'd love to see or hear any design ideas and hopefully it inspires a really nice poker chip all CTers can enjoy. |
I think it would be really tough playing in game with a $12, or $13 chip! Instead why not just use the idea for a $1, $2, $3, $5, and $10, that would make a pretty versatile cash game set, then you could use a different kind of chip for a tournament set, and make the labels with your green room idea, maybe crossed cues, with a 9-ball rack in the middle??
I was also thinking that with the lower denoms put the denom on one side- plain white label like a ball, then on the other side you could have your cardroom logo/name/design!
I am not sure what kind of chips you plan on using but the faux clays might be good for the lower denom chips (solid like pool balls).
Just some thoughts!!
Good luck working out your idea!!!
