Chips: 42 | | | Manufacturers? Hey All,
I am searching for a custom chip maker that will help accomodate my pickiness when it comes to quality.
Details: We have a friendly corporate game a few times a week, and with our business being centered around gaming, I'd very much like to explore the options of custom chips for our game. Further, I'd eventually like to work closely with the custom chip supplier to use their chips as a corporate promotional item (we're thinking tens of thousands of chips).
I'd very much like high quality, full clay composite chips, w/ quality production and graphics (possibly a matte finish?).
If anyone could please help me with recommendations of what they find to be the highest quality manufacturers that would be more than appreciated.
Thanks all! |

There are a currently 4 companies that produce compression molded ("clay") chips, though one probably is not interested in a small quantity order in the magnitude of yours (Paulson/GPI), though you could probably arrange for custom inlays through Trademark Services who is the distributor for Paulson's home market chips. The other companies producing compression molded chips would be Atlantic Standard Molding (pokerchips.com), TR King (trking.com), and Blue Chip (no web site). Additionally another company, Chipco produces full face graphic chips on an injection molded chip (ceramic), and a company called homepokerchips.com does a lot of small order custom chips through Chipco, though you might also want to contact Chipco to see if you might get a better price. The Chipco chips, because of their full-face graphics seem to be quite popular as promotional items and business cards. Quote: |

I THINK you need to go with ASM if you want custom inlays.
I believe TR King does them as well, but their minimum order is 5000 chips. |

TRKing will give you slightly more flexability on the edge spots - 3 or 4 edge spots but only 2 colors on the inlay and only one mold. Currently one group buy is being worked at the site. http://chiptalk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10944
ASM has 3 edge spots only - a variety of molds, but full color inlays. Many custom job references from individuals on the site. (too many to list)
Blue Chip - see Samurai Place groupbuy. http://chiptalk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9500
Check out the "Reviews" section as well.

Your help has be invaluable. Thank you so very much, I'll begin the research immediately.
Just out of curiousity... Has anyone ever seen the PokerRoom.com promotional chips that they have available in their shop? Does anyone know what type they are or any other information on them?
I have 500 of them and very much like them. I want something along the lines of those.
Now, if I were to say I wanted around 5,000 chips shortly with the potential for tens of thousands later, I take it that is still a "small quantity" order (compared to what casino's order)?
Again guys, thanks a ton for you helpful input!

Again guys, thanks a ton for you helpful input! | If you went with the reseller that was mentioned for Chipco chips, they'd probably treat you decently for an order of that size. For a chip manufacturer it would probably be a relatively small order. And as for potential orders in the future probably aren't worth much unless they're already booked, scheduled, and payment has been guaranteed for their delivery, I'm sure they've all heard that one before as their promising customer rode off into the sunset never to be heard from again. |

Chips: 42 | | | Re: Manufacturers? Thanks. I was looking further at the ChipCo website and noticed that the ProTech Series are more than likely the chips that were chosen.
Does anyone have a listing of ChipCo manufacturers? I did a Google.com search and only found ChipCo.com and HomePokerChips.com.
Also, how exactly are these images pressed onto these chips? |

Also, how exactly are these images pressed onto these chips? | Chipco is the manufacturer located in Raymond, Maine (near Portland). HomePokerChips.com is a reseller that will put your artwork on a Chipco chip.
The chips are an injection molded ceramic composite (the injection pimple is visible on the side of the chip). They are all 39 mm in Diameter and weight about 10.5 grams. The images are printed on the surface of the chips and will wear with heavy use. Chipcos must have a white ring incorperated into the design out the outer diameter of the face to hide the wear. The chips are slightly concave and rest on theis white ring when stacked. The rolling edge is also printed and if you incorporate edge spots on the surface of your design, there is no way to align the spots on the rolling edge to the spots on the surface. The graphics can be just about anything you can dream up and can cover the full 39 mm of the chip.
