Help designing chip and suggestions

Despite my love for poker and poker chips, I have zero knowledge about designs for custom chips. I don't have design programs, and am ashamed to say I have dial-up internet, to show how much of a computer guy I am not. However, I really want to get some custom Chipcos, but simply cannot and will not pay them $200 to design my chips. If anyone is willing to help me design some chips I can compensate them accordingly. My idea is a racing-themed chip, with a checkered flag and racecars, and a lot of color. Please private messgae me if you can help me out with the design. Thanks.

BK

Re: Help designing chip and suggestions

Somehow, your post reminded me of these:
http://www.chipco.com/cata/Homesets/VintatgeSet.gif

They're chipcos, but they're not customs..... and they're not really about racing...
Uh, never mind.

(I just thought you might want to take a look at them for reference.)

Re: Help designing chip and suggestions

I have a racing theme design in mind for the custom clay chips I want made, but won't be able to afford them for some time .
What kind of racing were you thinking of for your chips?

Re: Help designing chip and suggestions

Not exactly racing per se, but you might want to check out the Vintage Automobile series from Chipco. It's a standard Chipco design, and http://www.holdempokerchips.com/ has them for 69¢ each.

Jason - http://chiptalk.net/forum/member.php?u=3088 - (Cin0s3 on this site) does custom labels good for Nexgen chips. He is also is a racing fan. You should have good luck there. They're not Chipcos but may fit your budget.

Review of Nexgen chips - http://chiptalk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7651

There are several excellent designers on the site that could get your design ready to send for custom chipcos.

The colors on this are much more muted than what I think you're looking for, but here's a first shot..

Those are pretty cool!
How about modifying the number on each car to match the denom?

If these were for me, I'd want different F1 cars on each chip.
They have a color code of sorts, too, (green = Great Britian, red = Italy, etc.)

Yeah, I thought about changing the car number. Could maybe put it on the side. My concern was that the front number might be too crowded for the 25 or 100 (or 500 or 1000 or whatever larger denoms were needed).

With regard to the image, I just found a "clipart" car image on the internet and used that. I agree that different cars would probably look nicer, but this is about the best I could do in an hour.. LOL Also, for me, even if I had different car images, I would want them to be "the same" with regard to the artistic style. I'm sure it can be done, though.

~John

Re: Help designing chip and suggestions

Alright, this should be closer since you told me what your inspiration was. I don't like the text on the outside too much, but this is just a start.

Had a great brainstorm for the car. I play NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, and there are templates and viewers for designing your own car to import into the game, so I can design/paint a car however you want it. This was just a quick one. Easy to make the car numbers into the denom. Colors, whatever. So that will help immensely - the car design was my biggest concern.

Whaddya think?

~John

Re: Help designing chip and suggestions

That is awesome John. Very nice design. What about making the bottom half of the chip the checkered and the black darker? What do you think would be a good way to put the chip values on there?
