Putting together a custom PC.com order.

Hello,

I'm been lurking around this board for a few weeks now. I am putting together a 1000 piece chip set order from pokerchips.com that my fiancee is buying me.

This place has been a big help as far as picking out color combinations. The PC website just doens't do the colors justice IMO.

Anyways I wanted to know what people thought about these color combinations and denominations. As well as the logo.

[img=http://img347.imageshack.us/img347/8843/chip036pr.th.jpg]

Blue / white = 25
Red / dayglo yellow = 50
Green / dayglo peach = 100
Black / dayglo green = 500
Purple / arc yellow = 1000
Brown / dg peach = 5000

I decided to add a 50 chip because that way I can use this set for tournament play and cash games. I decided to take out the 10,000 denom in favor of the 50 after a friend of mine mentioned this would be better for cash games.

Any thoughts would be great. I love brutal honesty and constructive criticism, thanks.

Wow, what cash game are you in with a 50 dollar chip??????

anywho....the white label part looks good, I dont know what ASM will cahrge for 2 separate labels, or if they even do that.

The Black inlay will likely need a white rim around the edge so that you dont have any miscut/ misprinted inlays showing weird white strips.

And the hands dont really look that good, perhaps a "traced" style of the key features that make it look like a hand, would help it match better with the other label

It would drive me crazy to have "Big Slicks Card Room" instead of "Big Slick's Card Room".

But that's just me. Maybe.

I like the white side with the bust outline, might go both sides with that.

Colors are nice and most of your color choices would be my 2nd or 3rd picks. Not sure I like the chocolate color though.
My color choices would be the blue/yellow. With Red I like the regular red/black. Green with Yellow or Dayglo Yellow, Black with the Baby Blue Edge spots and I like the purple/ yellow or Yellow/purple.
Make sure you show us your chips when they come in!!!!

"Wow, what cash game are you in with a 50 dollar chip?????? "

Well the way I'm going to do it is have in numbers designed in such a way where say for "100" it would be big "1" and two smaller zero's the same thing with the "500" dollar chip. No $50 dollar chip at all lol. That's why I left all "$" off the chips. 50 can mean 50 cents (as it would in my game" same with the 25(cent) chip. 100 will mean $1 and 500 will mean $5.

I'll try the black side with a white rim around it, see how that looks, thanks.

"It would drive me crazy to have "Big Slicks Card Room" instead of "Big Slick's Card Room".

Your right I didn't even think about that. I would need the " ' " to indicate the cardroom belonged to me. Thanks.

Anybody know for sure if there is an additional charge for having a separate design for each side of the chips with this company?

Is the color progression I have chosen something that is viewed as traditional or is it more hit and miss? By my using a blue chip for my lowest denomination, red for my second lowest, etc.?

I like the black and white inlays (I am in for a sample set of the Samurai Palace chips). I am going to do that with my chips when I have my design process done. I am curious about whether they will do that also cause it will directly affect my decision of who will be making mine. Don't want you to think that I am "copying" you but, I host cash and tourney games also, and I am not going to put $'s on mine either for the reasons you aren't. As far as your colors go, well it is just a matter of personal choice. If you like the way they go together then that is all that matters.
However, if you really want to make them as close to traditional as possible there are alot of people in here that can help with that.
As long as when you get your chips, look at them and say to yourself, "I couldn't have done a better job designing these. They are exactly what I wanted." That is REALLY all that MATTERS!

the colors look good. I just placed a 1000 chip order with them its $50 extra for color that's it for 1000 they should give you 10 % off just ask and you can have a different label on each side of each chip if you want no extra.

"I host cash and tourney games also, and I am not going to put $'s on mine either for the reasons you aren't."

A couple of months ago I had sworn that I would not put any type of denominations on my set. I didn't like the idea of that. The more I thought about it the more I figured denominations just make sense. Now I don't have people asking me every time we play what the value of the chips are, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I can host cash games which is plus as well.

"its $50 extra for color that's it for 1000"

That's good to know.

I'm still going to tweak the designs a bit. And I'm still polishing my color choices (not sure about the brown 5000 chip) and what denominations will go on what color. Hopefully I can find some time during this editing job I have to get done so I can place my order early next week as I heard it takes roughly 2 months to get the chips.
