Denomination Chip Design.. Discuss Denomination Chip Design., on ChipTalk.net the place to go for your Poker chips and gambling tips. Read it in Custom Chips General.
I was thinking of doing a custom chip design that basically only has the denominations on it. A big number that takes up nearly all of the inlay. Maybe a font very close to that found on US Currency. (i think i'd leave the $ sign off) But unfortunately my art skills may actually be worse than my poker skills. Prob going for a custom label for a chip poker chip, but if a group or ultra fantastic look was made i could see splurging for a really nice set.
What about this do you intend to make custom? the edge spots? seems like alot of extra money invested for something you can buy off the shelf. Like the chipco classics or the Paulson james bond i believe.
Guess it comes down to what you want to spend and from what company. If you were goin with chipco i would just buy the classics....
I think he meant to type "cheap" chip in his original post. I just picked this image at random, but I don't think his intent is to buy a fully custom chip.

i find those to be hideous....looks like something that should be used in a nursing home for bingo.
If hes lookin to go the cheap route....why not some nexgen's with the chipco replica sticker from jason....think he even has a picture on his site of it.
thank you capt for the correction....im considering some of his stock labels for my cheap ass marlboro chips that have been sitting in the case for 10 years.
Sortof like what tomb linked too, and sorta like austin's pic. (i'm not paying 95 cents a chip for anything stock. (Well except if i found the retired dunes set at that price). I was thinking where there might be a ring of text with the casino name, spell out the denomination. and as austin pointed out, yes looking for something on the cheap side. Has anyone had any luck using a regular ink stamp on chips. specifically on the super cheap chips either the dice faux clay (6 or 8 cent chips) or the 6stripe (roughly 14 cents a pop)
