Chips: 542 | | | Cube illusion Chipco design I am thinking of buying a set of custom Chipcos from homepokerchips.com. Currently I've just been using 8 gram diamond composite chips.
Since I like mathematics and optical illusions, my first idea is a geometric one, shown below. Feedback welcome.
I am developing this idea in Illustrator. Haven't contacted hpc.com yet.
Note: I posted edge spot designs later in this thread.
[ edge spot design]
I would love to know from others who have created Chipco designs whether I can use any CMYK colors or if I must use the colors in hpc.com's palette, and if so, how to get that into Illustrator. The sample set I got from hpc.com seems pretty clearly a CMYK screened process, so I don't see why they might impose limitations.
If you've been through the process -- send me an e-mail or message. This is my first post to chiptalk, so I'm not too familiar with how the forum works. Thanks! |

Chips: 12,758 | | | Very interesting design, I think they look great. The only thing you may consider with the face of the chip is possilby adding a casio or card room name. You really don't need one, but consider at least.
What do you have in mind for the edgespots? Many Chipco designs have marking around the rim of the face to kind of tie in the edgespots: although they will not match up perfectly with the edgespots, many people seem to like them. I hope this isn't too vague, but if you look throught the numerous desings posted on the site I am sure you will see what I am referring to.
Overall, I like your design and think it would look great going to production as it is. I just wanted to give you a few things to think about before you totally commit.
Regardless of how you go, please post pictures of the final product so we can all admire them.

Thanks! | Great first post and I like the design... pretty cool. I'm not sure I'd change anything other than fine tuning the colors to your liking. Chip Design FAQ for custom Chipcos... Here's a link to the pdf file
They are CMYK colors and those ~80 colors are the only ones. I don't have the pallet though... if you come across one let me know.

Chips: 111 | | | Very nice design. I am surprise no one has told you to lose the $10 denom. Not much use for a $10 chip unless you are into a 10/20 game. |

Chips: 684 | | Nice design. I'm really feeling it.
Is it just me, or is anyone else envisioning Q-Bert hopping around on these chips? |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Wow, really nice design!
My only (nit-pick) suggestion would be to tone down the neon pink and orange faces on the $500 and $100 chips. All the other chips have colors that fit into the scheme better, but these 2 are a little less pleasing to the eye.
And you nailed the little "CI" mint mark, great job!
BUT lose the $10 chip, it's a waste of your money (ain't it, Dad?).... |

Chips: 53 | | | Probably just my monitor, but the top "1" on your $1 chip seems a little too faint for me. Any ideas yet on your edgespots? I like where this design is going, and I think you could do a lot with your edgespots here to fit the theme (but I'm also begining to think just leaving the chip sides the face color would look good). |

Chips: 164 | | | The cubes are inverted. now they're exverted. now they're inverted. Now they're exverted. THEY'RE MAKING ME USE WORDS THAT DON'T EVEN EXIST! my brain hurts.
Those are some seriously good looking mockups.
I don't care too much for the purple and pink. But that's just because I really don't like those colors.
I'd probly buy a set of those just for the uniqueness factor. |
