"Gambling Ladies" MD-50
I would like to present the "Gambling Ladies" mockups and explain the evolution of this design. Inspired by her Great Aunt Elaine Townsend who owned a cuban gambling casino in the late 1940's, my wife opened a beauty salon in Fishers Indiana. She named the salon "Elaine's Salon" and developed the theme and the marketing strategy around the history of her Aunt Elaine. The centerpiece in her lobby is an enlarged vintage newspaper article complete with a color picture of Elaine. The article is titled "Gambling Ladies" and it details Elaine's introduction to the gaming industry in Cuba in the spring of 1947. You can see the article on the home page of her website: elainessalon.net.
Knowing we were using the gambling theme in the salon decor and as part of the marketing strategy, I thought J-5 would be the perfect choice to design her logo and marketing material. I contacted J-5 to see if he was interested . I was absolutely thrilled when he said yes and the following mockups evolved from his efforts at designing the marketing material for Elaine's Salon. J-5 designed a double logo for me; one with the words "Elaine's Salon" and an identical logo with the words changed to "Gambling Ladies". We use the "Gambling Ladies" theme in several ways to separate Elaine's Salon from all the other salons in the market. It works beautifully in her business and I could not be happier with the design work J-5 has done for her business. The chip inlay is the "Gambling Ladies" logo except I have replaced the "E" with a denomination. The mockups will be enlarged and will become artwork for the salon. The plaques are very similar to the "E-Money" gift certificates J-5 designed for the salon.
The best part about this project is I get an MD-50 chip set made with this logo. Two different cash sets represent the dark side of the "Gambling Ladies" and the tournament set represents the light side of the "Gambling Ladies". I hope you enjoy seeing these as much as I've enjoyed the development of this set. I have ordered enough chips for 10 four or five piece sample sets. I have reserved one for J-5, Abby and Meddler which means I have 7 sample sets left. If you are interested let me know in this thread and I'll put you on the list. I'll send samples to the first 7 who respond.
