"Bullettime Poker" Mock-Ups

Hi everybody,

I'm fooling around a bit with a rather childish mock-up for this contest. I'm nearly done with a very classy design on which just the higher denoms and edgespot-variations are missing, but I always wanted to create something for the younger players. Chips with a shark on it as an example, or a donkey, just those stereotypic poker phrases.

I came up with bullets and this actually is/was a real shadowgraph picture of a bullet piercing through a solid material.

I changed it so far, to fit for a pokerchip. I'm not quite happy with the chip, to me something is missing and the name is also not quite good. "Bulletproof Poker" would be much better.

Some details are missing because of the size of the picture. On the Edgespots there are "waves" visible from the material getting squeezed by the impact and the shreds flying away can normally be seen very well.

Still it's the first try on this and not much time spent to it by now, so plenty of space to adapt your ideas to the design.

Oh yeah, btw. this is the original picture:

Cheers,
Pils

Childish? I'm not a kid and I love it! I think you did a fantastic job on those. The fact that they are so different makes them extra special.

Well childish is maybe not the exactly right word.

Thx @ moneyhustler
The change of the picture wasn't a great deal. I cut the original in several pieces (around 10) and tried out various effects on them till the resolt satisfied me.

---> I'm wondering how this design will and should develop. One step is done and I changed the name and font and made it "Bulletproof Poker"

I just got another very nicely related theme-idea today as I found a small label on my sportsback (got that as a promotional gift and never really paid it much attention)

There was a round button with a "sniper-cross" on it and suddenly it snapped to my mind, that this would be great with a shark as target and the name isn't "Sharpshooter", but "Sharkshooter".

I'll create a fast mock-up for that idea and post it here.

But my question is:
Is that another set-idea or maybe this could be the first addition to the "Bulletproof mock-up for a themed set with different layouts for each denom ?

- if a themed set is the way to go, what are other cool ideas ?

Cheers,
Pils

Re: "Bullettime Poker" Mock-Ups

Ok, here is the mock-up for the "Sharkshooter" idea I described above.

Do you think this should rather be a single set or is this a good start to combine it with the "BulletProof" Mock-Up as a themed set

The themes could be combined very well I think, at least this first two ideas, but how to go on. So maybe it would really be better to start a second set out of this idea. Mhhhh, difficult.

Cheers,
Pils

Re the BulletTime deisgn. Did you try a little more contrast in the lines in the white area? Overall, I think you've achieved quite a nice effect. I like the simplicity and the bold colors. Going to be quite the challenge to combine this with the shark on the same chip without detracting from both.

The lines in the white area have a little more contrast, the pictures are just a bit too small to see that. On a chip they should stand out better, but you're right... they could be better visible.

@ Shark-Design
My intention wasn't to combine them in one chip. I meant one set.

Say 5 denoms:

5 (?) - 25 (Bulletproof Design) - 100 ( Shark Design) - 500 (?) - 1000 (?)

I just got this idea because Bulletproof and Sharkshooter are somewhat related. But after some re-think of it I'll go with two different sets.

Cheers,
Pils

This would make an excellent bounty chip for the bulletproof set.
