Re: TMSC FireFly Inlay Mockup
Hi:
Maybe you should ask directly to BCC about the artwork fee(s), for me you have a white inlay, changing only the denoms (that was the BCC's inlay artwork fee offer to us rigth?)

No earth-shaking meaning behind it; when I was thinking about this set, I happened to play a CD called Peeni Waali, which means firefly, and I thought, hey, there's an animal that gives off light, that might make a cool inlay.
Here's the near-final mock-up...with 'good fortune' non-denom pic'd as well. Figured that would be a decent alternative as this has a dark background and multiple denoms will be make for expensive artwork.

Here's the whole set in non-denoms:

Re: TMSC FireFly Inlay Mockup
It's a great inlay design!
The red gradient works well on certain chips, but for others it clashes badly. (Like the sherbert green and the hot pink one for some reason)
Did you intend to color match for all the colors in your gradients or are you going to leave it black to red for all?

Thanks for the great compliment! Man, you must be reading my mind...with all the different colored chips, it's difficult to create a single full-color inlay that matches well with all of them. I put up all twelve so you could see the good and the bad.
I need 5 colors, and was thinking they'd be white, orange, sherbet, charcoal, lavender and or chocolate and or yellow. I was struggling to find a single color scheme that would suit them all. I'm not quite there and maybe can't get there. I really need to get a sample set to look at up close and personal.
I't would be nice to use specifc background colors for each chip, but I can't justify the artwork costs for multiple setups. So, I'll stick with one, at least for my own needs. If someone else comes along and wants to use the design and share costs, maybe an additional color scheme would be feasible.
I chose the inlay colors giving much consideration to how it would work with the sherbet, charcoal and orange chips, and I'm surprised that you feel that it clashes with the sherbet. I'll have to give it a more critical look, for I am almost certainly going to get that chip.
Thanks for the feedback,
R-Ho

Re: TMSC FireFly Inlay Mockup
R-Ho, that makes sense that you are designing the inlay using the charcoal, orange and sherbert, I'd say the sherbert one is too punchy, that's all. The charcoal one works perfectly.
The orange one is great too.
It's funny, because the scan looks like the red one is matched very well to the gradient.

That's because I added a little darker color layer along the top edge of the orange, trying to make it more agreeable to the pink and purple. Notice how it looks brown, but not bad, against the orange chip, while seemingly a perfect match to the red chip?
Now if I only had a trick for all 12.
Think I'll try shading the orange off to a darker top edge and see what comes of it.

Re: TMSC FireFly Inlay Mockup
rainbow border colors...

will probably look stupid, but you never know. Pick some colors for some sections of the firefly rays of light.
BTW, the 'Firefly Lounge' font size is a wee bit small... fits between the wings, I know, but you may want to try to bump it a touch for legibility.

Re: TMSC FireFly Inlay Mockup
Here I've darkened the border a little and changed the background color to a less orange 'sky' to make it work better with the pink and purple chips.

I tried rainbow...I couldn't make it work...
The font...well, for now I'd rather stick with the size I've used and work on the color scheme. Ive justified the text somewhat toward the center, so could move it out and increase its size a little with no significant impact on the chip. I have new bifocals so can read it A-OK I also think the jpg resolution limits on this site render the font a little fuzzy...whereas on the png's it's clear.
