Okay, I killed the gradient sky background - I think that was taking away some impact. Went back to the full face and redid the stripes to vertical rather than angled. And changed colors some.
Thoughts on this one?

A5S-
Those are awesome. The 100 is my favorite. Very cool with the 1/2 moon. Did you happen to also mock it up with a full moon to see what it looked like?
Are you getting a few extras as sample sets for your buddies |

I like the redesigned face quite a bit, but think the angled edgestripes looked better than these do.

I really like the art deco look, the design and primary colors. I think you were right not to make the edge spots too busy. My only issue--if it is an issue--is that I expect the sun/moon/evening/morning theme to progress in a chronological pattern, but I'm not sure how it can.
red--twilight
green-afternoon
black--midnight
purple--wee night/morning
yellow-daybreak
lt blue--afternoon (possibly early morning)
The only colors "out of sequence" are the red and green (possibly blue)--but of course they are correctly colored for traditional denominations. The only reason I bring this up is that it's kind of amusing to me that it seems like when you are using the smaller denominations, the tournament's just starting and its still afternoon/early evening. As the tournament progresses, time passes, until finally the last players standing have played into the wee hours of the night, early morning (and will have to tip toe past their spouses when they get home--except hopefully they $ they won could buy them redemption). So--that's really funny to me and adds a dimension to your chips.

As with every aspect of this design, I've been going back and forth.. I just finished this draft up late last nite.. I was actually planning on doing another draft, identical, but with the angled spots, to compare..

I am jumping in late and did not see the original versions but these look awesome!!!! I really like the denom font - it goes really well with the theme. I liked Bee's explanation of the progresion, but I think it looks good the way it is - I really can't tell any difference in the 5 & 25 though (other than the background color of course)(please point it out to me since I am not seeing it)
Overall I think they will make a great chip set

J,
It's only the colors that make me see that difference between the red and the green.
