Gordian's "Casino" going (PI) clay?

After failing on mocking up a ceramic chip that I actually can draw, do like and that can be printed and having some clay chips in my hand I decided to try again with the PI clays.

You can find my old thoughts and mockups right here http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...ghlight=editor

My actual mockups come out like this one and still need a lot of improvement, but clay will definitely be my way to go.

Still, this one is nothing more than an experiment, I don't like the inlay design yet. Comments and advice are always welcome

Regards,

Gordian

Tried something different... even though it still needs improvement, i do like it way more than the one above... what do you think?

i really like the logo of the knot. maybe you should use that as the background. also it is really hard for the inlay colors to exactly match the chip colors...

Re: Gordian's "Casino" going (PI) clay?

Guess you're right about the cities... making them a bit bigger shouldn't be a problem. About using the knotted symbol... i don't know, i just wanted to replace the kind of generic fleur de lis from my older mockups. It's just some photoshop clipart and though it looks nice, it doesn't match with the Wallsons... this was the reason why i drew this symbol. I wanted to find the mold design of the wallsons in some form in the picture... after trying some different things i ended up with this one looking a bit like a celtic knot. As my first name is Gordian, i decided to go with the name "Gordian Knot" for these.

What would you think of replacing the smaller, edgespot-colored knot-symbol with a sword, as Alexander the Great did cut the Gordian Knot using one?

Re: Gordian's "Casino" going (PI) clay?

In Erlangen, quite close to Nuremberg... but as i moved there because of the university, I'm still living in Kassel in a way... there's still lots of friends and my family out there. Chasalla is the older name for Kassel, i chose that because it is longer and so the &-sign is in the middle of the location.text

Just tried the swords... will work on that more later... i gotta go offline now

I love the look of how you have this mocked up. The knot in the background seems to blend in with everything else. The swords just bring it all together.

BTW I lived in Ansbach back in the early 90's. I miss the beer and Jagershintzel...

If I were you, I'd drop the swords graphic, make the "knot" match the lighter edgespot (arch-yellow, in this case), and make the denom match the chip base colour (black).

Hmmm... come to think of it, I liked v2 better than v3...
