Chips: 30.3 Bank: 0.0 Total Chips: 30.3 | | FoodCHIPS ?? Lemme know. I created this mock up of those chips and need your feedback because I am seriously considering purchasing chips with pictures of food on it. Can you imagine us saying "I raise you four burgers and one lobster"??? I separate the denomations of chip value based on those food's general price. For example, a cucumber is the cheapest of all so it is the lowest denomation then burger (General variety of prices on a burger not top quality *winks*), strawberries, pizza, etc. I was thinking about adding the value to each chip 25, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 but not sure if I should even bother. If I do, it means taking complicated measures such as different colors to be easily exposed on the picture but I happen to like some of the lighter or darker backgrounds for some of the foods- ex. steak with black background in the flames...what more can I ask for? Using no numbers could mean that the value of each chip can be adjusted but it might make the chips look less professional... I hope to receive some suggestions to improve the appearance of my chips. |

Wow.
This is like the most awesome first post ever!
Personally, I like non-denom chips -- just tell everyone what each chip is worth before you begin playing. How many of each were you planning on getting for the set?
What, no bacon? |

Lol...thanks. Yup, no bacon but I can change one picture to a salad (caesar salad or garden) or something like that... (Just didn't want to be rude to vegeterians, ha). I definitely will cater food prior and in duration of the event...that was my goal- *winks* We have cook-out where we sell hotdogs and hamburgers so that should help...
I absolutely agree that I don't even have to add denomations onto the chips, I plan to announce the value of each chip prior to the start of the event, perhaps a hour before. I was hoping to get 1K total in chips if not more, lobster chips will be the lowest (100) since I will always identify it as the most expensive value chip than the rest.
The cheapest value will be same amount as the most expensive chip since I always use blinds and ante to be raised per 20 min or 15 min so the lowest denomination tends to be useless after three rounds depends on the ratio of the players versus time allowed, etc. |

What? No Potato Chip?
Seriously, I think it's a great idea and like that they're non-denominated. You could scan them and post a chart on which you could identify the values for that particular game. Great idea! Have fun with it. |

Honestly, whenever I look at my design on those chips...something feels missing but I am not sure. Maybe it is either the level of simplicity along with low level of artwork involved. I am not sure but I know for sure that I am not fully satisfied as of yet. |

OK interesting idea, but put the "food" in a realistic chip cost to food cost ratio.
For instance....
The pickle might be the 5 or 10 cent chip. (if you use them)
Maybe macaroni and cheese, or a soda might be the 50 cent chip.
A burger is easily found for 99 cents so it could be a $1 chip.
Pizza or chicken might be the $5 chip.
A steak as the $10 chip (if you use them)
Lobster the $25 chip....
That way, saying, I raise 6 burgers and a soda is relatable to "$6.50" |
