Inverted Jennies

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice for building a custom set around the "Inverted Jenny", a picture of an upside down airplane from an incredibly
valuable stamp.

Some might remember it from "Brewester's Millions" when Richard Pryor used it to send a letter to the baddies. If you care you could always look
it up on wikipedia. In fact here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverted_Jenny

Anyway...
I've always liked the simplicity of the Teddy KGB chips so I'm hoping to do something similar. I've done a mockup with frankly inadequate tools
and I'm wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I understand the image format is pretty important for getting the image sized
and colored correctly.

For the design I'm just beginning to play around and would certainly appreciate feedback and ideas.

Thanks.

Re: Inverted Jennies

Use a bolder font that matches the original stamp better. You could make it look like a round stamp, think a shaped inlay. Is this inlay for clay chip or are you going ceramic? This idea would be something I could really play with. Understanding simple is your goal.
This is my latest chip design I went for simple, http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...sino-chip.html

Here is a quick thought but I would do it over with more delicate lines like your original.

Second version.

Since you can't get true punched inlays, I would go for a faux punched inlay that looked like the edge of a stamp. Kind of like the cog inlay.

I really like this idea, but don't have time to mock something up.

I'm thinking Blue Chip Co. with the faux punched inlay would be perfect for these chips.

A faux cog inlay would be sweet on this chip. That is an excellent idea!

Re: Inverted Jennies

Wow.
Great idea for the border.

I'm thinking of doing these on the PI solids so I'll ask Joe if it's possible to do that inlay cut -- if not I can still go faux.

Any advice on tools/software for doing design work.
Is there anything like chip templates available to help?
