Heh, that's just a silver 1oz bar (as opposed to round, which is how it's usually delivered) by Englehard, the most famous of the mints. Go to your local coin shop and you can peruse any number of "brands". The shop I go to just has a grip of assorted infrequent bars among many rounds in a bigass box and I've gotten a few bars because I thought they were cool. Normally I just buy the rounds, I figure everyone can recognize the value of a silver-dollar size piece of silver.
I'm hedging against inflation with metal. Pretty common working-man's saving plan in economic times like these. I have them "around" so I could just plop a few in the ol' tournament setup and be good.
What would you change about the progressions? What really drove me towards something like this is the easy availability of the solid chips, along with some edgespots in the higher denoms. I'd supposedly order the higher denoms in 100+ quantity, while the solids can be ordered in weird, small quantities.
Edit: five chips is winning by a landslide... I guess I should have figured that but I agree, the colors are just better for one thing. thanks all.
