Edit: First of all, here's the latest version of the design, with all six "custom" designs -- two red and green card backs (with green and brown ones thrown in for good measure), two Jokers, the Ace of Spades, and a Cut Card. These aren't final yet, but we're getting closer -- so if you want to stick your two cents in, speak up!

Okay, folks, so a lot of you have seen the
rendering I did depicting the soon-to-be-released Protégé chips. Beyond that, people got a little excited about the prospect of
making some of those ancillary items I put into the picture.
Well, while I doubt we'll ever get
everything in there (somehow I don't see anyone getting into the cigar business
just to promote chips), we're certainly edging closer. The
dealer button is now in the preliminary group-buy stage. And the image itself (if all goes well), may be available for purchase as a high-end poster print (we've gotten the official go-ahead; we just need to check the production details).
So now I'm here to add one more item to the list:
custom cards. That's right -- thanks to a happy confluence of events, Sidepot is planning to develop a Protégé-inspired deck of cards.
Plastic cards.
There's still a lot of work to do, and that's where you all come in. I've got preliminary designs for the Ace of Spades and the card backs (since, well, I
had to do those for the rendering), but I'd love your feedback on them. After all, we're talking about these becoming a
reality, and not just pretty pixels on a screen.
Furthermore, we'll have to design two
Jokers for the set. So at this point, I'm soliciting suggestions on concepts, styles, themes, what have you. Heck, if you want to submit full-fledged ideas, I'm open to that as well. I'm not doing this for the ego factor (well, okay, just a
bit, maybe); I
want these cards. And I want them to be
phenomenal. And I think the best way to do that is to tap into the well of talent we've got right here.
So, let the creative process commence!
