Arctic Ceramic Customs *many HUGE 2.5MB files*

So after playing with dice chips for two years, I have decided to cough up the money and get a real set of chips. But after weeks and weeks of reading and research I am more confused than I was in the beginning. BUT I think I know what I want. I was going to go with faux clays or bees and apply labels BUT IMHO I would be spending about $300 CAD for chips that I would want to upgrade again in a year or so... so why not spend the money now.

Some background on me, I live in the Arctic! Resolute Bay, Nunavut, Canada, 75 degrees north to be exact. We play hold 'em twice a week and have between 6 to 16 players (8 or 9 mostly). So I figure 500 to 650 chips would be fine. I am pretty sure I am going with Ceramics from ABC.

My first problem is I am perhaps the most indecisive person I know so I have been trying to think of a good name (title) for the chips... Frozen Aces or Arctic Aces keep coming up, but I am open to ideas...

From there it only gets worse as I really have no photoshop skill at all, all I know is the backside of the chips may be the same image, an Inukshuk. I have attached a picture of one (this will not be the one used but gives an idea) I have also been thinking about animals maybe... that happened after reading the thread about Buddy's outdoors chips... but polar bears and narwhales are more the animals I have been thinking of.

Colors are easy I guess standard(ish) would be fine. As you can see I really need help here, confused is not even close to where I am right now.

Thanks in advance for the help guys (and girls)

WOW! You are way up in the great white north! I like the frozen aces double entendre, lol. That symbol would look pretty cool on a chip I think and polar bears look great on a chip. Check out the one from I think it was casino niagara. This one is a nice once for a chip I think.

Re: Arctic Ceramic Customs

After thinking about this all day I think I am going to use the animal idea for sure (Buddy4Bass had a great idea there) So on the back I will use the inukshuk and the words Arctic Aces (maybe) and then for the denom I will use different animals.

.25 Ptarmigan
.50 Char
1 Arctic fox
5 seal
25 Narwhal
100 Walrus
500 Muskox
1000 Polar Bear

or I may go with numbers but no $ that way I can use 1, 5, 10, 25, 100, 500, 1000 and I I wanted to use them for a cash set I could call 5, 10, 25 cents.

What do you all think about the demon? is 8 to many for a 1000 chip set? Should I keep the $.25 and $.50?

The images of the animals will be sort of drawn like this..

I am still trying to figure this out...

Re: Arctic Ceramic Customs

What is the "Inukshuk"?

I've seen someone do the Teddy KGB Rounders theme using panda bears. Sounds like you could do something similar, since its seems you want a b&w image...

I think you should keep to the 4x-5x mulitplication factor between your chip stack... 1, 5, 25, 100, 500, 1000. Would be my vote and that's what I'm doing with my set.

Re: Arctic Ceramic Customs

I should have also mentioned that you can eliminate the "1" chip if you would like. The way to do this is treat the chips as cents when playing cash game. For example: "5" = $.05, "25" = $.25, "100" = $1, "500" = $5, and "1000" = $10.

Just food for thought...

I won't pretend to have one-tenth the design capabilities that some on this board have, but here's an idea that maybe somebody can clean up and run with...

Re: Arctic Ceramic Customs

Wedge Rock an Inukshuk is a pile of rocks to put in simply. Used to mark paths and direction... remember we have no trees up here!

The more I think about it I may go 1, 5, 10, 25, 100, 500, 1000 with no $. That way I can play a 5/10 cent cash game as well. But I guess this may change yet as well.

I wish I had photoshop skills, I can picture what I want them to look like BUT can not draw either with pen or mouse!

forgive the quality of this... BUT I was thinking something like this
