ASM custom What do you think?

I have been lurking around here forever, but I don't think I have ever posted anything. I am interested in your opinions. I am having the inlay changed so that the values are white on all chips and the NCV chip does not have anything on it. I am changeing the color combo on the $1 and $5 as well but I am more concerned about feedback on the inlay design.

I am concerned about the dark background in the inlay. initially they had a plain white background but it was really stark so I had it changed. Now I am concerned that it is too dark. I have looked at thousands of chips (inlay clay) online and in pricing guides, and I have found very few that have dark inlays. My fear is that the dark inlay in not "traditional" and I will grow tired of the design over time. As all of you know these are costly and I want to make sure I get it right the first time.

Let me know what you think and if you have an idea for a totally different design or a suggestion to alter this design.

I dont know if I did this correctly. I may need to try again.

Re: ASM custom What do you think?

Actually I just ordered a set with a dark inlay. Mine are quite a bit different so I'm not sure if this will help or not.

One suggestion I have is to make the text bigger, as its hard to read in the pic (which is twice as big as the actual inlay) and I'd expect it to be very hard to read in reality.

Re: ASM custom What do you think?

Other than font sizes which will make reading every word on the inlay difficult/impossible the design is fine. I don't see any real problem with the background and it makes more sense for it to be dark if the lamp is lit.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll be happy with them.

My chips with a dark inlay are supposed to arrive today, so you may get to see some real soon now .

BTW I agree with the comments about the small font size.

Re: ASM custom What do you think?

Agreed and agreed.

The dark background is fine, and used every so often. The text is way too small. Try printing out the inlay design at actual size and you'll see what we mean.

Re: ASM custom What do you think?

I too like the dark inlay. I am going to do a set of customs ASMs early next year and I will go with a dark inlay as well!

Re: ASM custom What do you think?

That's a unique inlay! I really like it. Check out jdecarlo's newly arrived ASMs with black inlays. They look fantastic. Other than that, go with the suggestions here re:font size, etc. Nice job.
