Perhaps people would appreciate a little background on how you make these models. A walk through or a progression collage might be something worth sharing. I enjoy these and I thought perhaps it would be nice to have a little perspective on what goes into your 3D models. |
I've used different techniques for different chips but for these in particular I used scans as
references to make sure the edge spots have an accurate shape but in general I would say they are from scratch other than the inlay, which is based off of the original artwork proofs (provided by HPC) in this case.
Just as a quick example; like I said I used scans as a reference point but it’s not just a scan of an image fed into a 3d animation software. The chip has to be built by hand as does the artwork (material) which is applied to it.
