New ASM Set Mockups - Completely Revamped LOL

I had posted some of my initial ASM set mockups a while back and had pretty positive feedback on them. As the days turned into weeks waiting for my chips to be completed, I got to thinking that I might want to do something more elaborate and interesting, as well as add denominations to the chips.

The denominations are a no-brainer since I'll only be using the set for tournaments (haven't played in a home cash game in a year), and I thought it would be fun to match the denomination colors to the colors of each chip.

As for doing something more elaborate on the design, I wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go in. I spent a ton of time looking at chips, both on ChipTalk and on PokerChips.com's web site (playing with the number in the mockup URL). In the end, I took a lot of design cues from MeridianFC's custom ASMs, along with elements from a few other chips, and still kept my main design element (the 45 insert).

I'm really happy with the way they're looking right now, and can't wait to get the chips. I just wanted to post the updated mockups here to see what people thought of what I'd done:

I like them, cute idea. The only thing I might change is to put the 45 adapter in the center (with a circle around it) and bend the text around it so they actually look like little 45 records.

I like them alot! The 45 insert is very clever. The whole design is well balanced.

My two bits: The 500 denom is a little hard to read. Matching the chip colour is nice, but I might actually match an edge spot on this chip just to make it easier - or possibly go white.

I would be wary of circles around the outside of the design with ASMs. If they are not punched *exactly* on center (which is hard to do) it will look very off. Without a circle close to the edge it is much harder for the eye to tell if there is a slight skew.

Nice inlay. I think it looks great. And let me commend you on your use of non-tradional colors for your denoms. I love the combos you came up with. (my 100 is exactly like your 10k!) I especially love your 5k chip!

DITTO...good eye!! I would also remove or lessen the black half-tone...maybe place it behind the enlarged 45 adapter in a lesser opacity maybe 25-30%....this will 'clean up' your design so that it compliments the chip colors rather than compete with them...just my .02...you can not go wrong because you have a good design now...it would look super sweet AS-IS on a solid chip...it would be classic!!
