Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

Brent at Lynbark designs worked on these for me I will be ordering this week a cash game set of 600 chips. Comments are appreciated. Ideas and change suggestions are welcome also. I want to make them look as nice as possible.

Re: Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

Those look nice and clean. BR Pros tend to have good graphics on their chips, so that come out really sharp! It'll be great to see pics when those come in!

Re: Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

I don't know... but since you asked...
The design looks a little busy and disjointed to me.
I guess the "Big Fish" is shaped to look like a fish? But it doesn't look like the fish skeleton below... Maybe you could make the "Big Fish" be complementary to the skeleton, i.e. big "B", big "H", shorter in the center. Kinda like it would nest with the skeleton.

Then you could move the denom up above the "Big Fish" text, since it would have a hollow above the text.

Does that bottom text say "You won't get bored" ?? That's kinda hard to read...
Does it have some special significance? How about "You will get hooked" ??

I'm not sure where to fit the "Card Club" text... maybe just put it at the bottom, replacing the "You won't get bored" ??

just some random thoughts. Feel free to ignore them. (Now you know why I'm not a chip designer!)

Re: Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

it says you wont get boned. Its a college thing that our group used to say. "trust me you wont get boned" The origions are a bit embarassing to me it involved a failed econ exame thusly making my career choices much more limited. The guys will love it. I like the way the letters are but if you have a design I could take a look at it. It would be cool to see. Perhaps it would look better. So far im amazed at the work brent has done. The fish bones are a design that I came up with based on a sculpture I saw. I made a rudementary sketch and took it to an artist friend of mine and she fixed it up. I then had that logo airbrushed on my table.

Re: Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

Ok... the boned thing threw me... ... but if it's an inside joke than cool.

I can see what CaptLego means as I don't know about caring it over the wrap and having card club just hanging there.

I can't tell if it's the intent or not but is the "BIG Fish" supposed to be in the shape of a fish? I like it that way but I think it should be more clear and play off of the skelton on the bottom... like they should be the exact (or much closer) same shape like b/f & a/f... just a thought.

Yes its supposed to be in the shape of the fish. I'm going to forward the post to brent at the design place and see if he can do something. I wish I could visualize what you and lego were trying to get across. I will post new mockups as soon as i can get them.

Re: Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

i like the design but in my opinion id like to see it more symetrical. Put the fish in the middle and the word big above the fish. the word fish below the fish and the denom in the middle of the fish or down to the side...but i really do like that goney fish....cracked me up laughing

Re: Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

I have since worked out a totally new design with Brent at Lynbark Designs. I will be posting it as soon as it is compleated. I went with a more simple design. I still have the fish in the center though. A more straight forward design is what I went for. I'll post later.

are the edgespots at a bit of an angle, or is that just an optical illusion to me?

Re: Mock-ups for new my new BR pros

Miles,

I like the theme and the "hook"... "you won't get boned"

sorry couldn't resist the obvious and bad pun.

I worked with Brent on my BR Pro's as well. I think symetry works with certain chips, but for this design, I am going to disagree with the previous posts and say that having a jumbled look is perfect..

A splashy look should be played up I think.

Think water, waves, ripples, splashing and the fish bones.
You could also go more beachy with it and change the lettering to a TiKi style font which would look pretty cool too and drop the "fish shape" lettering altogether.

ooohh...here's an idea, have the chip look like you're looking at it partially under water somehow... Just writing and thinking as I go. so the bones are ON the beach just washed up on shore. I can visualize it, so maybe Brent can work it. assuming it's something that appeals to you.

The BR Pro chips do have a slight "sandy" feel to them ...

Anyways...just throwing some stuff at ya. It's times like this when I want to run out and buy Illustrator just to whip up my ChipDesigns...

Capstone

PS...just one more thing...you might consider dropping the .50 cent Denom off the pink chip and leave it blank (and dare I suggest... possibly consider Yellow?) ...that way the chip can serve both ends of the Number sequence for use in both Cash and Tourneys alike
