Casino Newfoundland - custom ASMs, proof and mockups - SHIPPED!!!

Sandy from ASM sent along the proof for my custom chips today, and she did a great job. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I asked her to do a version of one of the tournament chips with and without the $ sign, just to see which I liked more. I was, and still am, leaning towards leaving it out and just have the currency symbols on the cash portion of my set. What do you think?

If I add a non-denom in the future, I'll probably have a small maple leaf from the Canadian flag in place of the denomination.

And yes, JM's Casino Antarctica chips were a partial inspiration for mine The Atlantic Puffin is the official bird of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Chip breakdown:
160 Chocolate
160 Grey 214 Lavender
120 Imperial Blue 414 White
60 Mandarin Red 3D14 Yellow/Black
100 Green 4A14 DG Pink/DG Peach
175 Black 4A14 DG Green/Imperial Blue
125 Lavender 3D14 Arc Yellow/Red
75 Yellow 6A14 DG Yellow/Chocolate
25 Orange 6A14 Black/White

Plus 5 sample sets.

I was just able to get in a minor change with my set, I'm going with Lavender 3D14 Arc Yellow/Red chips instead of the Purple 6A14 Arc Yellow/Gray that is in the group buy. It'll give me a little more variety with this set, and hopefully I'll be able to replace the yellows with Yellow 4D14 Gray/Purple if that's an option later this year

And now with the new edge spot options, I added a non-denom inlay with a red maple leaf in place of the denomination.

I'm ordering 100 green 6A14, 75 yellow, 25 orange, 100 chocolate, 60 white, and only 20 each of the pink and green 212 to see how they look stacked and possibly add more of those edge spots in the future.

My chips finally shipped on Jun 1! I can't wait! I'm not sure how long it'll take to get here via USPS. Hopefully not too long. They took a little longer because it was split into a couple of orders because of a shortage on some colours, and then they had to do some make-up chips for some reason. But now they are on the way!

[Feb 1 - Added final proof, I'm happy with it now]
[Feb 6 - Changed title so I can find this post easier, added chip breakdown]
[Feb 8 - Modified final order slightly]
[Apr 20 - Added mockup for addon order with new spots]
[Jun 1 - Chips have been shipped!]
[Jun 9 - Chips are here!]
[Jun 15 - Modified second order with chocolate chips and updated the mockup]
[Aug 8 - Second order paid for]

And now, pictures from the picture thread!

Re: My ASM proof, seeking opinions

I like them!

I tried mine originally with the $ and then without and found I really liked them better without. One reason was that I could use it as both a tourney and cash set. So for a cash game, I'd use the 5 for a nicket, the 25 for a quarter, and the 1 (which looks surprisingly similar to your $1 chip lol) for a dollar. For tourney, the 5 becomes $5 and the 25 is $25 and the 1 isn't used but the $100 is.

BTW, the 5c chip is a little off because of the cent mark. I'd either make that in a smaller font than the number on both the 5 & 25 or just move the whole 5c denom over to the left a touch to balance it better.

Just a thought here about non denom chips...If you have all non denomination tournament chips, you can eliminate the 5c, 10c, 25c chip etc and just do all of them without the $. Then you can use them for both nickle games and others as well.

Thanks

I was thinking that the 5¢ seemed a little off centre, but wasn't quite sure. I guess the 25¢ is slightly too, but doesn't seem quite as bad. I guess I'll have to get it centered going by the whole thing, not just the number. I don't think I really need it in a smaller font.

I had considered going with a double-duty set as well, all without currency symbols. but decided I might as well go all out and get a full set Easier for having a side cash game while the tournament continues, too. Partly because I liked the grey and blue chips and I wouldn't really be able to fit those in my tournament set.

Are they here yet?

Re: My ASM proof, seeking opinions

Let's put them into proper perspective (though I've just taken my best guess at the colors -- and a wild guess at the mold):

That's sure one expensive nickel!

Seriously, though...nice looking inlays.

Re: My ASM proof, seeking opinions

Thanks Kalimba, looks great. And you guessed right on the mold My red chip is mandarin red, the rest are either in the group buy or obvious as to the colour.

And yeah, it's an expensive nickel - even more so being a Canadian nickel But I'm ok with that.
