Nice setup with the chips and table. I thought the south use American weapons, not AK47's.

Nothing personal but I just don't like anything at all about these chips. I am sure you like them as you designed them, so good for you.

I could never get used to this base color set up. No denominations on most of the chips makes any set terrible in my opinion. Edge spots are weird. The inlay looks goofy at best.

not that much on the inlay...makes it look at actionish but hey if u like it cool
I will agree with the actionish comment which I do not like. I don't care for chips with the background being mostly black either. To each to his own though.

One positive thing I will say though, sweet table! Nice touch on the decorative edging too.

Sorry for the harsh comments. I like your rationale for everything, but I think that I am a little too old and too much of a traditionalist for these chips.

When I first looked at them, the denominations looked like they were just part of your design. They did not stand out at all. Now that I look closer, I see that they are all denominated. I first thought that some had em and others didn't. I guess that the denominations not being real obvious is another reason that I don't like them.

Here is another reason for you: The 50¢ and $10 chips are not very useful. In my opinion you could have easily eliminated them. Use your money for more of the useful denominations or save some $ and order less chips.

After thinking about this a bit more, I just think that you rushed into this a bit and made some rookie mistakes. After all you have 13 posts and just joined less than a month ago.

I think that you will eventually have buyers remorse on these chips and wish for another design. If you had looked at a LOT more real chips and spent more time lurking and asking questions I think you could have come up with something much better.

Sorry again for the harsh comments. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, just honest.

I very much like the chips and think they have a unique look to them.

I do not think it was a good idea to add the white ring. Those chips that are off may look even worse with the ring. Then again: perhaps the ring will focus the pc.com folks into better centering your design.

Great table. Thanks for sharing your chips and table with us.

I think I will reserve my opinion until I see pics of some stacks. I think the inlays look great. I prefer contrasting edge spots, but I guess I have never really taken a close look at chips with subtile colors. In the end, if they make you happy, then good for you and congrats.

I still want to see some pics of your chips stacked.

1500 total:

500 x 25cents, LT green / DG green

200 x 50cents, pink / DG pink

400 x $1, white / grey

200 x $5 red / mandarin red

100 x $10 purple / lavender

Plus approximately 100 extras

What I see here is a good setup for 3 different cash games plus numerous options for tourney style play. In home games, details like how many chips each person gets, spreads, and denoms are nearly as varied as the games themselves. I have seen .50 and $10 chips in brick and mortar poker rooms - I guess someone should tell them how obsolete these chips are. It looks to me like he got a bunch of quarters - so he can play low stakes for quarters. The .50 make excellent small blinds in a 1/2 game - foregoing the appearance that the small blind is bigger than the big blind. (because 2 quarters would be stacked for the small and one $1 chip for the big) The $1 chips then serve dual purpose as small units in the 1/2 or 3/6 OR as small blinds in the 5/10 (although 3 $1 chips would be a bigger stack than 1 $5 chip) with the $10 chip making a nice unit for the turn and river bets...

Many of the "negative" points Nanook is making are opinion. I myself would also have made different denom and color choices (I do, however, really like the complimentary edge spots) I'm sure the "white ring" was a PC.com thing, although I thought they would print full bleed- perhaps you have to request it? I think the inlay is excellent - because I do see it as being quite personal.

Tai, I don't foresee you developing "buyers regret." And, I'm sure you will get much use from these chips - which, IMHO, are quite striking as well as being very original. Excellent work, and good luck with them - and your architectural endeavors.

Hope to see more from you.

Very nice chip design. Add a "P" to the end of the "TD" and they would be a nice custom set with my initials.
