Heres the breakdown:
200-$5
200-$25
200-$100
100-$500
100-$1000
100-$5000
100-$10000
100-$25000
My standard tourneys are T7500. You're starting stack is:
20-$5
20-$25
19-$100
6-$500
2-$1000
Blinds start at 25/50 with a $5 ante. Double every 25 minutes.(we color up after 15 minutes of 200/400 40, then run another 15 at 250/500 50)
This structure works out perfect. Our games usually last between 1.5-3 hours, mostly around 2-2.5.
So, with my set I can have a 10 person T7500 tourney with the standard starting stack. Way more if I throw an extra 500 or 1000 in there for change. Our monthly games are a T2500, with 10/20 blinds to start. So that's not a problem either.
As far as the big chips, at the end of the night we play what we call speed poker. It used to be 15 minute blinds, with 1500 in chips. 25/50 to start. Those games usually last around 45 minutes. With these new chips, we did 300k to start, 5000/10000 blinds to start doubling every 12 minutes and it was a blast.
BTW, I didn't cash in my first game with the new chips. Ah well. It was a 25 dollar buy in, and I won one bounty. ($5 for every person you bust) Plus another 11 bucks drawing for high card at the end of the night. So it wasn't all bad.
