What is not traditional about them?? I really need to see the list of traditional denominations for when I make my custom set.

Who cares about "traditional" - if you are paying for custom chips get the colors and denominations you want. If nothing else, they will be unique.

pretty much echo others in the colors/denoms matching - odd choices for the chips.

Design might be a little plain, but I prefer clean lines like you have.

If you stick with denoms, would try to create a more standard playing set. Otherwise, keep the colors, make them non-denoms, and you have ultimate flexibility.

My wife is out of town with the digital camera but when she returns I will post some "action" shots of the chips. Thanks for asking!
Nice first attempt! I like the design... immediately thought of Decarlo's... nice to see the inspiration.

Look forward to seeing the actual chip pics!

I would agree that the center needs to be a bit bigger, but maybe that's just me....

As for the denoms, I HATED having $25, $50, and $100 chips in the set of cheap royal flush chips that I first bought. To me the $50 is useless in that setup. You, however, don't have a $25, so you may not experience that same hatred I had for the $50.

I agree that you might find the $50 denom fairly useless. You've already got the right color for a $25, so you could just change it to that.

As for the center, it's actually the same as the Buypokerchips.com Archetypes. I've got samples in front of me, and personally don't see anything wrong with that center size. I think I'd like a little more black in my $100, just to stick with "tradition", but the other colors are correct for their denoms, I believe.

Finally, I've got a set that includes $5, $25, $100 & $500 denoms. For No Limit tourney style, I dish out whatever chips I can for the players we have, regardless of buy-in. For cash games, I divide each chip by 100 (a $5 chip is actually worth $0.05. So, a $20 buys you $2,000 in chips. Then, assuming someone's thought ahead to bring a few rolls of coins, we can cash out just as easily. If I have $3,565 in chips, I get back $35.65. Simple, and keeps me from needing different sets for different types of games, and let's us feel like "big dogs" in spite of our measly $5 buy-ins. <g>

Anyone else regret having denoms on their chips? Before I bought, I'd heard many suggestions to not have denoms, but have yet to regret it. Especially because I never hear "How much are the green ones worth?"

Cheers,

Dave

Well I regret putting on the denoms that I chose: $5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100 was my original set. The 20 is only useful in 10/20 limit games! Then I added: 250, 500 for about 3 months. Then switched those to 500, 1,000 and added a 5,000 chip and then 10,000, 25,000, and 50,000 plaques!

And guess what: I am gonna scrap most of this set and get a set of Sopranos to use as my cash game set, and a small set up of faux clays as a tourney set- 5, 25, 100, and a few 500!!

This place is causing me a great deal of stress!!!!
