BTW, Dennis did quote me $95/100 for custom edgespot BLANK chips. I don't know what a TRKing feels like without the inlay/covering on them but I do love those chips.
I also have a set of Casbah Club chips. These feel a little different than those ones but I can't really explain why. I think the extra blank space for the inlay lightens them up a little, and they also feel a little bit harder. Hard to explain exactly what I mean...

It's definitely that the spot didn't get big enough in the mold....the general shape of the "inconsistent" ones carries over from one side of the chip to the other. They don't bother me though, gives the chips more character.
Anyone interested in another group buy of these? I bought a 100 chips just to play around with and I so regret not getting a full set. I'll be buying another 500, and I think another member from TH-P.com wanted to get in for 500 as well. You simply can't deny the quality of T.R. King chips when you lay your hands on them.
The price will be $0.85/chip if we get it to the original 5000 chip level. I think that's entirely doable. I think we can get Dennis to correct the $1 as well.
wow, these are really nice chips and seem really affordable! how long did the process take you guys?
From the time I came up with the idea to actually receive my chips, probably 4 1/2 months. But there was a lot of down time in between while I was waiting for the holidays to pass, then a few weeks of design input. From the time we finalized the design and placed our orders, it was about 7 weeks to receive our chips...
I think that it has been said that Dennis agreed not to do these exact color combos again. If I had been in on this group buy and that was the way it was set up, I would want it to remain that way.
I am also considering doing custom TR King chip. I am not a graphic designer, but I have quite a few obsolete chips from real casinos and have a pretty good feel for what looks good. To me these chips feel and look way better than any others, with the possible exception of the Paulsons. I would rather have a chip that is a bit more unique than what you can get with Paulsons. It seems like Dennis is way more flexible and easy to deal with than Paulson.
What was the final count of this chip design? How difficult did it seem to get to 5000 chips? It does not seem like it would be that unreasonable........
I emailed Dennis on the possibility of doing my own inlay design (complete with format he needs to send to printers) with 4 different edge spots designs for 600-1000 chips. He said it would be $1.85 per chip. Isn't that just ridiculous? Does he come up with prices based on mood? The Teddy KGB Chips were only $0.95 each (granted it's 5000 minimum) with custom inlay and edge spots.
Can someone who has gone through the process of self custom order or group custom order (like SlowPlayRay) explain the logic better?
I myself might be interested in getting a custom set of TR Kings in about 3-4 months.
I've gotten a quote for 600-1000 chips with a couple of edgespot options. The numbers ranged anywhere from 1.50 to 1.80 depending on volume and edge spots. This is more than I would want to spend but if I could get the quote down to around a $1 (or less) I would be in. I wouldn't want a variation of the Kings Crown ones though.
