Mock-ups and proofs only go so far.
Where to begin....
Welcome to the club my fellow 3U brotha'!
In lots of playing around in the chip factory, I never would have imagined a mandarin red/pink (or DG pink for that matter) combo would have enough contrast to really work. Count me up as happily wrong.
Tri spots (and 2a12s to boot). You've got the whole polychromatic orchestra playing for you on this one. The white tri-spot is interesting because first look, it's almost like there are only two offset spots. It's only with a better look (and I bet proper lighting) that you really see what it happening there. Subtlety played out to the max, and well done.
I like the orange base T1000. Not quite traditional colors, but close enough that purists won't be offended.
Gray base T5000 with DG pink as one of the spots. I wonder where I've seen that before?
That's it for the first impressions. I'm sure there will be more as I revisit this thread again and again and again....

There are so many I like... but I think I have to vote the $1 my favourite (with the 100 & 500 close behind... and an honourable mention to the quarter!). Did I mention I love the inlay? Awesome concept, very well executed.

I love the fade on the inlay to match the chip color. The inlay itself is also very classy. Excellent job! |

Chips: 500 | | | Re: ~~~~~~~OLD ORCHARD Poker Room - ASM - (Lots of Chips, Lots of Pics) When I logged on to Chiptalk today I was pleasently surprised to see "Old Orchard" in the Custom Pics section. I finally got around to checking them out (I'm at work) and I must say these turned out even better than the mockups would suggest.
Highlights would be the 25¢, T100, and T500 chips with an honourable mention to your T1000. The inlay design looks fantastic (props to Machinelf) and the overall fit and finish appear to be top notch (props to ASM).
Great set of quality clays. I hope they bring you plenty of luck in the future.

Wow once more. Super sharp! | Thanks for the comments Gil!
And regarding the red with pink, it's always been my favorite combo. It looks great almost anywhere, IMO. There are several who have done a mand red base with 614 hot pink spots, and it looks great. It would have been BY FAR the best selection for a red chip in the TMSC, but that didn't happen (even though pink was basically the top votegetter in the early rounds ).
That red 3U chip is definitely one of my favorites in the set! |

As far as how the chips turned out, I am really happy. Sure, I would have rather had an edgespot color on the $1 white chip that didn't split like the Red spot did. On my reorder, I might try DG Orange there, since the DG Peach and DG Yellow turned out perfect. And, DG Orange is close enough to the red to where it wouldn't be obvious that there was a change. Or, I may pick a few new colors, to go for a whole "secondary" them on the $1.
The $25 is the other chip where this happened. Doesn't bother me as much on this chip for some reason. It's obvious that the color "red" has problems with splitting in general..
The overall quality of the chips was top notch, IMO. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
