Chips: 156 | | | Spearman Custom Ceramics. ABC, J5 Here are some pictures of my new ABC custom ceramic chips. J5 designed them and he was awesome to work with. I have no idea how he can read one of my rambling emails, and then create what I was hoping for, but even better. His design skills are truly amazing. He created this design for me and a buddy, (the only difference being the name on the back, and the letter on the front, sorry I don't have pictures of my friends set) Gene at ABC has an awesome deal with J5. If your artwork is designed by J5, Gene will give you 10% off the total cost of you chips. Yes, that's correct, if you order enough chips, your artwork from J5 actually pays for itself. Denoms are .25, 1, 5, 25, 100, and Non-denom. I've used them at a couple cash games, and everybody at the table wants a set of their own.
Let me know what you think of them.
There are a couple other pictures, a close-up of the $5, and another picture of a splashed pot, but the code from image shack isn't working. |

Best of luck with your new treasures!!

BPT | I wouldn't say by myslef and J5, I would only say nice work from J5. He came up with it, and I only told him what I liked and didn't like on them. He's very patient, I think he worked on these for about 3 months. |

Gene is fantastic to work with. I just completed a 250 chip add-on to a set he did for me in 2006. Love the new blanks with the non-glossy edge. Gene did a great job of color matching the old to the new. Also the satin finish on new blanks rivals that of a Chipco chip.
Good luck with your new set. |

Chips: 156 | | | Re: Spearman Custom Ceramics. ABC, J5 I've gotten some use out of these chips now, and I think it's time for an update on them.
I've used them only four times since I got them late last year. I hate it that when I was in college and played three or four games a week, I couldn't afford them. And now that I have a good job, I don't have much time to play poker. Ironic isn't it?
I've heard around this site that it is good luck for the rest of the life of your chips, if you lose some money the first time you play with them. Is that true?
Because if it is, I'm going to be set for this life, and my next one and the one after that. I don't want to turn this into a bad beat thread, so i'll just say that all of my friends are calling these chips cursed because they've never seen anything like the terrible luck I've had. (Imagine a bad session, and at the start of every session you tell yourself, "This is the session where I wont have bad luck. I can win with no luck at all, but bad luck is hard to beat.")
I think I'm ready for my good luck now. |

I love it when ceramics don't try to pretend to be clays. John does great work, he designed my chips too and is incredible at translating ideas into reality. |
