My experience with HPC was
great. I was in contact (through email) on and off with Dave for about a year before I placed my order. I got prompt and helpful responses everytime. I felt very well taken care of; they definitely want to ensure that
YOU will be very happy with your purchase. In the future, I will probably order another set through them.
The 2 main reasons I went with HomePokerChips/Chipco were :
- 1) I still think Chipco has the best ceramic; I prefer the feel of Chipco's over the others. Others come close, but not quite.
- 2) Their fixed color palette. I felt very confident knowing that colors I picked from their color wheels were the colors I was going to get. I didn't have to worry about any potential color shifting problems. There are more than enough colors to choose from.
Potential Production Issue.
There was one slight issue that delayed my chips going into production
**. I was warned that white text-wording on the edges of black chips could potentially be problematic (short story; a few years ago they could do it no problem, but Chipco has since generally advised against it). I was given a few options to bypass that potential issue, but the options weren't satisfactory to me. I didn't want to alter the artwork and I was set on white text on my black edges, and as minor as it may seem, it
could've been a deal breaker if I couldn't have them made that way.
** I want to note that the delay was due to me thinking about how to proceed, and not because of HomePokerChips.
I've seen (and I own) black Chipco chips with white print on the edges and I know what they were warning me about, but it didn't look that bad, so I went ahead and went with what I wanted (and crossed my fingers that they were maybe being a little over cautious). I really did appreciate them (Dave & their artist Patrick) warning me about it, and further looking into the issue to give me any more info they could about it from Chipco.
Results-Finished Product.
The black (and all the other) chips came out perfectly fine; nothing to complain about at all.
I'm very happy with the results; the colors look great and all the chips look exactly like I thought they would (mainly due to their color wheels and all the mockups I made with the
Full Face Mockup Tool, which was also a
huge help).
