FAUX CLAY: COLDSTAMPING & Dye Results (Twinstar Poker 450 Set)

Got the first set of Custom DIY Faux Clay's done and I AM ECSTATIC!!!! These things came out beautifully. This is the Twinstar Poker Room set that I completed for Fathers Day. They are custom dyed and custom ink stamped with Stamps from Lisa @ creatnstamps (ebay). Thank you to Lisa for the great service. I will be doing my USPC inspired set next.

These took about 4 hours to dye (including the USPC's) and about 2 hours to stamp 450 chips. I stamped with Staz-On Black & Staz-On Opaque Cotton White. I mixed a few drops of Adirondack Silver Mettalic Mixatives into each pad (i will use gold for my USPC's) to give them a hotstamp look. In person the silver is cool, as it makes the ink shine in the light in all chips, and is seen in streaks in some. Definitely gives it a great vintage look, but be very careful as too much will change the Staz-On curing time and strength. A few drops is all you need. I love them!!

Comments welcome...

The whole Twinstar set stacked... The USPC inspired set is in the background (Dayglo Green 25, Burgundy Rust 100 , Violet 500, Apricot 1000, minus the gold moss 5000's)

Twinstar Poker Room Stax

The Set of Coldstamped chips... better representation of the colors (Shocking Pink, Blue Spruce, Black, Violet, Lemon Yellow)

Here's a close up of the inkstamp... black/silver.

And both black/silver & white/silver.

Re: FAUX CLAY: COLDSTAMPING & Dye Results (Twinstar Poker 450 Set)

I'm incredibly tempted to pick up 1000 whites and give 'em a good dye job, especially after seeing the results around here. I swore I never would but.....

Well done...I like the stamp!!

Great looking set!!!

I love the dyed colours and those cold stamps are some of the nicest I've seen yet. Outstanding work.

+ rep 4 U!

Re: FAUX CLAY: COLDSTAMPING & Dye Results (Twinstar Poker 450 Set)

Those look really fantastic. I have a few whites that I'm going to have
to dye now. Don't know if I'd have enough patience to stamp all mine, but
the way yours look might tempt me.

Ken

I'd recommend it... it didn't take me long. This set took about 1 1/2 hours, and I had a couple martinis in between. The 1000 Set took me a little over 2 1/2 hours in one sitting. It's fun to be honest... and the results make you feel like you accomplished something, at least . All said, I recieved my FAUX's on Wednesday, started dyeing them Friday, and I finished the entire dye/stamp process Sunday. Did each set in one sitting.
