I helped Feen666 design himself a set of custom labels for some PI Compression Clays. In way of thanks, he ordered me a 100pc set with my name on them. Thanks for going way above and beyond, Mark.
Here are the pics:
Scan of the chips:
[
Stacks: (100 high, no wobble, no gaps)
Chip impressions: (8 out of 10)
Sound: (9 out of 10)
Compared to BCC Samurai Palace: The PI Compressions have a lower pitched, softer clack sound.
Compred to casino Paulson: Slightly higer pitch but softer.
Compared to new TH&C shaped inlays: lower pitch and softer
The PI clays have a nice sound to them.
Appearance: (8 out of 10)
You can definatelly tell what chips the colors are based on. The almost nailed the pharoahs colors to a tee. The reds and greens are a little bit lighter in color, the others are almost perfect. The color combos are nice, even my wife complemented them. There are some spots where the joints of the edgespot colors and the base colors are not completely joined together. These spots are not big and not like the cracks that were on the solid prototypes. It's almost like the pieces they put in are not perfectly the right size and there is a tiny slit on the outher edge. These are the worst edges (I searched

). They aren't bad enough to cause any problems.

Mold: (7 out of 10)
The mold on the chips is a nice, clean and subtle design. There are some spots on the mold where the pressing isn't perfect. A couple of spots where the pattern didn't press in and some others where it appears that the chip kind of stuck to the mold and pulled some of the chip up with it when it was released. These are subtle and you have to look for them.
Feel: (9 out of 10)
This is where these chips really shine. They feel great just slightly softer than the blue chips. I like hard chips so this it totally subjective.
Inlay: (10 out of 10)
(I'm not evaluating the label design, just the quality of the label)
The inlays are Palm Imports textured labels. The labels have a really good print quality and have a fairly high gloss. On the scan it looks like there are some white spots that didn't get printed, but that's just a reflection off of the label. I can get my fingernail under the edge of the label, but I can't pull it off. These labels will stay on through any normal use.
Overall I'm very pleased with how these turned out. I have an additional 18 of each label and PI has a guarantee on their labels (pm palmimports for more info). These aren't BlueChip's, ASM's or Paulson's, but they are also half the price and well wort it. I'd reccomend these to someone wanting an entry level clay set.
