Re: New WSOP replica chips! (Yes another set, BUT LOOK...)

Thought I'd offer an opinion while these are still being tweaked.

I'm not sure I like either the font or the italics of the WPS. It's such a straightforward font that it makes it seem like it would need to be centered and symmetrical-ish, but the slanted italics kinda prevents that, or maybe it's the extra curves of the W, but it just looks kinda heavy on the left side. I don't think I explained it very well, but hopefully someone recognizes what I'm talking about.

EDIT: It's kinda more obvious on the 100-value chip. The italic slant makes the WPS look kinda angled against the number.

Re: New WSOP replica chips! (Yes another set, BUT LOOK...)

late getting in on this, but i wanted to chime in. the chips look great. matt also has a great chip. I have been in contact with matt about his chips and he seems to be a stand up guy. I can appreciate his enthusiasm and love for this addiction we have. I am pretty new here, but I really love this site and it is so nice to see everyone work out the misunderstandings and get back to what we are all here for. I personally will be buying chips from Matt (already in the works) and when these become available, I will be buying some of these. Every poker player with OCD should have as many chips as possible. I think I will put together a cash set from one dealer and a tournament set from the other. I wish i could design a cool chip of my own though. that would be cool!

I actually am considering the same thing. A cashgame and a tourney set. spread the "wealth".. that term being used very loosely.

Re: New WSOP replica chips! (Yes another set, BUT LOOK...)

John is doing some final tweaks on three of the chips...I believe we are extremely close to these being exactly how we'd like them! If everything goes well, they will be available this week!

Thanks,
Gene

Question... are the ones in the picture smooth or are they the ceramics with texture?
