Chips: 1,275 | | | My New Chip designed by Debra Meister My new personal chips arrived today . They were designed by Debra Meister. I think she did a great job. What do you think about the design?
My primary chip collecting interest is in dragon chips ( thread - scans). So when I decided get some custom chips, having a dragon on one side was a must. The other side relates to my interest in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time (Wot) series of books.
If anyone wants to trade for one of these, let me know. |

This isn't the Book of Swords story? Or the Raistlin guy... I've read too many of these types of books to remember.

It consists of 11 long books with one more on the way. As far as fantasy books go, it is on a short list of my all time favorites that includes J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy and George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice series. Like The Lord of the Rings and A Song of Fire and Ice, WoT is really one long story vs Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series where each book is a complete story.
If you haven't read them in awhile, you may want to pick up the last book released "Knife of Dreams". It came out about a year ago. If you do, I recommend you read the book summaries found on Dragonmount though. As you can imagine, a lot happens in the first 10 books .
WoT is also available in audio format. That is my prefered way to "read" the books. The readers, Michael Kramer and Kate Reading, do an excellent job. I believe audible.com has most of the books in the series. Wherever you get them, make sure you get the unibridge versions (30+hrs/book vs. 6hrs/book). |

Chips: 47 | | | Re: My New Chip designed by Debra Meister My reading time is now devoted to playing online poker and my son's stupid Playstation games...I'm into this stupid "Call of Duty" game. I like to buy the 19.99 games at Target, my son isn't so into games yet that he gets all the new games anyway.
I know I've read at least the first 8 books in the WOT series, I remember the story, I did check out RJ's site and got myself back in tune.
I'll have to check into the many different series of books I used to read to see how many have sequels.
This is the Book of swwords I was referring to, I liked this series.

I have a 30 minute commute each day. That gives me an hour a day to listen to a book. That time is wasted otherwise. It also helps with the road rage . Quote: |

Chips: 507 | | | Re: My New Chip designed by Debra Meister That is a great looking chip. I too am a fan of the WoT series (rereading the series for the third time) and was thinking about getting a custom set featuring references to the books. Unfortunately that would be a bit too geeky for the guys I play with so I put the idea on the backburner.

I am not sure, but if I had to guess I would say I have read the series 6 times. Everytime a new book comes out, I start at the beginning of the series. With Robert Jordan being sick, who knows when/if the last book will be released. I guess will have to wait and see . |

Anyone else interested? | Yes, I would be interested. I have thought about it in the past. I have not been able to create artwork that I think is worthy of putting on a chip though. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
