Chips: 10,069 | | Very nice... they turned out great. I understand the non-denom crowd but the design on the back would have been good to fit one in... this is the only neg. I see. Classy, timeless and an excellent heirloom. I was (am ) in the same boat and will relish the day my little girl puts the squeeze play on me.
Good luck & thanks for postin'

Chips: 1,142 | | | very beautiful chips. Classy and timeless.
My only negative point is no denominations. I really felt that you should have had them. At least on 1 side. Chips without denoms tend to look unfinished in my opinion. Overall, it is still a beautiful design and best of luck with them. |

Chips: 934 | | | I'm gonna echo the two previous posts.. Beautiful set of chips, but that back side is just aching for a denomination in that big blank white space...
I'm jealous, nonetheless..

Then, after she has done so, we will change it to "four out of seven" then "her fourteenth birthday" then "her twenty-first birthday." It was 500 chips + 13 extras per color! The two images (one per side) did not cost extra, but pokerchips.com did not volunteer that information. | Okay where's Ten with the official log of chiptalk quotes...this just vaulted into my top ten:

Chips: 66 | | | Very nice design....i swear it amazes me the amount of creativity i see here...ive seen some home sets that look better than alot of casino chips..i do agree with austin though on the one side could use a denom in that blank white space. How long did it take from day you placed your order until the day they showed up at your door?
My only gripe (not with the actual chips) i guess is the lack of options when it comes to getting something like this done in a timely manner. PErhaps some of you should start a company here...god knows theres plenty of talent on the design side of it. |

Chips: 164 | | | wow, those are really sharp! My sister and her soon to be husband chose the roman mold for the chips I'm designing them for their wedding, and now that I've seen it on your set of customs, it looks outstanding. |

There was a period of about 2 weeks between me sending the artwork to the graphic designer, to me approving it. Originally, I had the color picture and the text on the same graphic, and thought I would just have that on both sides. The designer told me that either the color background of the graphic, or the text below it, would have to go. I didn't want either to go, so I suggested that we do two sides - one with text, one with the full graphic, and we went back and forth.
So three months between me sending the graphic to the designer and me opening up my boxes o' chips. Two and a half months between placing the order and opening up my boxes o' chips. And probably four months between me deciding "To heck with it, I'm going to DO THIS, by cracky!" and opening up my boxes o' chips.
I would advise you or ANYONE to take your time on the initial design phase. I wanted (and you will want) your chips to arrive as soon as possible, and I was tempted (and you will be tempted) to try to get your design done as quickly as you can. Remember that you are probably not going to be buying a second set - these will be your chips for a very long time (and if your daughter is going to be freeing peasants, they will be hers, too) so you want to take the time to do it right. Run your design past your artistic friends. Bounce color ideas off of people. Look at chip pics in this forum, the 2+2 forum, and any other forum with chip pics.
One thing that helped me (when selecting colors) was "Will I still like this in 5 years?" I wound up going with a more muted color scheme than I had started with, because I thought that in 5 years, I may be less flamboyant than I am now, and it would have been horrible to someday be embarrassed by the chips. These aren't quite as LOUD as I would like now, but I know that in 5 years I will still be happy with them. |
