Chips: 74 | | | The picture of the $100 chip posted above is the picture I sent Cathy. I used the same colors as the originals for the $100 and $500 chip. I used the same colors on my $5,000 chip as the original $1 chip. The $1,000 chip was really the only one in which I just picked colors. I sent an email to Cathy about the $25 last night. The color on the $25 above is what I was expecting. I guess it could be dayglo peach, but on my Palmas club chips dayglo peach looks a little different. A while back someone on 2+2 did a nondenom set similar to this and posted his color scheme - dayglo orange. His $25 turned out much different (I still have the picture), but he may have posted the wrong color scheme. It dosen't matter that much as the $25's will probably never be used. I changed my mind in the middle of the process and increased my order to facilitate $10,000 starting chipstacks, blinds start at $100-$200 - so the $25 may never be used. My goal was big stacks of $100 and $500 chips. I still would have liked the color scheme to be more similar to the originals. They really turned out great though. |

Chips: 4,436 | | Kudos to ASM for an attention to detail that neither Paulson nor Chipco accomplish.
Okay, now I'm waiting to be struck by lightning by the chip gods for insulting Paulson. Quote: |

Paulson = Mexico
ASM = Maine
Case closed.
Just my 2¢

Chips: 4,436 | | Are you implying that everyone in Mexico is cross-eyed and unable to align inlays?! That's just terrible!
Although I'm a big proponent of keeping things in the states, the problem here is with the company's committment to quality, not their ability to accomplish it. I'm sure their facilities could align inlays, but they choose not to to save time and money. Probably in the same category with their decision to manufacture in Mexico. Quote: |

Chips: 6,883 | | | Congrats on getting ASM to use those inlays. Dosent sound like you really had to persuade them, as long as the edge-spot size was different, they were ok with it. Nice job!

I posted it then and I'll say it again - the TR Kings look like crap. The edge spots were so shallow and uneven. The mold was wrong. They were NOT good.
These, OTOH, look very nice, indeed. I loved "Rounders" and would jump at the chance to have a set of samples from the movie (if they were not just ridiculously expensive) but the inlay is SO plain I really wouldn't be that excited to make my own version. You did an excellent job, though. They are very nice replicas.

Chips: 216 | | | Those are definately not labels. look at the texture on the $100 chip in the picture with one of each of the 5 denoms. |

We worked on the size and placement a little bit, and I think it is about as good a replica of the inlay as I could get. NOT labels, custom ASM inlay. Although not an original idea! | If anyone from pokerchips.com is listening.... here's my two cents.
I still think these chips (and also most definitely the Chesterfields) would make great regular stock items on your website. Sure other companies can make copies... but who wants those? Even if you don't replicate the exact edge spots from the movie, how about considering using your standard for-home-sale 3 edge spots and the right molds.
Speaking of that... if anyone from pokerchips.com ever wants to answer a trivia question, here's what mine would be:
How come all the pics I see of the 'authentic' Chesterfields chips appear to have a flat face.... i.e. no indentation from a mold? Is it an optical illusion of the pics? Or is there really a way to make a chip completely flat like that?
Thanks,
Allan |

Chips: 3,046 | | | I am also in the process of ordering ASM Rounders replicas. Mine are in .25, $1, $5, and a $12.50 chip. Apparently pokerchips.com has no problem making chips like this and the proofs they sent me are spectacular. For my next set I would like to get some Chesterfield Club chips, I will have to win a few more freerolls before I can do that. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
