Chips: 11 | | | Got some proofs done, but... I've been working back and forth with Sandy, and I still haven't been able to see a design that I'm a 100% happy with. I thought I'd turn to this forum here, if only to get some advice on what should be changed. But if someone wants to take a crack at creating something superior, then hey, I'm up for that.
My design idea is very simple. Just a simple, classic casino-type chip with "RoadRunner X" along the top, and "RRX.CA" along the bottom (with that exact capitalization style.) The denomination marker in the middle should be large and somewhat italic. Here are some mock-ups of what Sandy managed to complete: http://rrx.ca/chips/Proof1.jpg http://rrx.ca/chips/Proof2.jpg http://rrx.ca/chips/Proof3.jpg http://rrx.ca/chips/Proof4.jpg
Proof #4 is about as close to what I'd like, but the font used for the text along the top and bottom still doesn't look right. I'd like something nice and bold, but not quite as large.
Anyway, I just thought I'd get some opinions from you guys. A traditional casino look is what I'm going for. |

If you are considering changing the font, I'd recommend a free font site like this one, where you can input the text you want and see examples of what it would look like. |

Regardless of the spacing, I think the wrap written that way will always look a bit off/unbalanced because the words aren't "balanced" - adding a space might help, but I'm wondering if you could do an off center text wrap, or put the X somewhere else. I think this might be (at least part of) the problem that you can't seem to figure out.

This is particularly noticeable in my "Proof4" image from Sandy. However, if you look at "Proof3", it seems to be a lot more balanced because there's not as much of a space between the last "r" and the "X"
So I'll go back to Sandy with these suggestions and see how it works out. Thanks again for all of your input so far, it's greatly appreciated. |

I'd try not intalicizing the denominations, for I think that's working against your design.
The denoms are placed awkwardly. Take a step back and position them so that they fill the space correctly in your mind's eye, so that the open spaces on either side 'feels right'.
