Question Design help request: asm horsehead inlay art

Hi Everyone,

Greetings from Sydney...

I am looking to go ahead with an asm custom order for 600 to start with.

The inlay outline I've put together is for the "Hyams Beach Racquet Club & Card Room". The doc file is 54kb so I couldn't attach it here.

If any of the designers have time or are interested in helping me, I would greatly appreciate the expertise! I am fairly clueless as far as the sizing & printing guidelines for asm hh inlay are.

I was hoping for the inlay to have a retro/vintage 2 color look. All favoured font (Quiggly Wiggly, Hobbyhorse, Caracteres) links & the dolphin graphic are included in the doc file.

Please pm me with your email so I could send attachment for your consideration.

Many thanks.

Re: Design help request: asm horsehead inlay art

Hi Blake,

What can I say? Absolutely brilliant!!

I'd really like your opinion on whether you prefer one style over the other.

The layouts look just so balanced. Would it throw the balance out to make "Racquet Club & Card Room" maybe 1pt bigger? Do you think the denomination Georgia font on the HobbyHorse version would look better a bit smaller, but in bold? Maybe it is already, but if not could you possibly try it. The only other thing was whether or not you tried the denominations with a narrow black drop shadow on both versions?

Thankyou so much for your expertise with these Blake. They look fantastic! I can't even choose between them yet!

I'll copy this as a pm as well.

Best wishes,
Paul

You didn't ask for my opinion, but...

the bottom one

Font will be easier to read when scaled down.

Hi Paul,

Here are the tweaked versions:

With the font 1 point bigger and with the drop shadow:

With the smaller, bold denom with the drop shadow:

A version that I think looks good:

Let me know what you think.

Smile Re: Design help request: asm horsehead inlay art

You're the man Blake!

Thanks for trying the little alterations. I am sending you a pm.

I appreciate everyone else's input. I've always liked the first one because of that Quiggly Wiggly font having a retro resort feel, while the 2nd HobbyHorse font has has more of a beachy/old fashioned look.

Cheers everyone,
Paul
