Tropicana Cuba BC Mockups

I need to add "HAVANA, CUBA" along the bottom curve of the inlay but I don't know how to do this. Please MSG me if you can help.

See below for the latest image..

Re: Tropicana Cuba BC Mockups

Good inlay,

1 and 2 are a waste (considering the options you have), and 3 is not available. You need to mock-up that one with a 4T18 and use the base color for the middle spot.

One suggestion i have with the inlay is to replace the background blue with something else. It kinda looks alittle Americanish, especially with the red chip. Keep working at it

Re: Tropicana Cuba BC Mockups

To bend text, it is pretty easy. MS Word, or any graphics program your computer came with can do it. In Word, look for "word art," select the smiley face shape, type your text. Then you can resize the box and manipulate in other ways.
The ChipLab designer can do it too.

The size of the font is too small for the "cabaret and casino." It will be nearly impossible to real in a script font when on a chip. The font for "Tropicana" is kind of plain. You might want to leave a US currency symbol off of a Cuban themed chip.

I'm sure when Blake and the other design junkies see this, they will be able to give you lots of constructive ideas.

Re: Tropicana Cuba BC Mockups

I'm a big fan of the "traditional" colors/spots for my chips, and edge spot progression, so my .25 and 1.00 chips are not a waste IMO. Also, I plan to use 4T18 but it wasn't available at the chip forge.

I have tried to think of a neutral color for the background, but I wasn't able to come up with anything I liked. I used dark blue because it represents the night sky, and the Tropicana is an outdoor night club.

I've been considering switching my red chip to brown with mustard spots...this moves away from my "traditional" color theme though.

Thanks to all who offered to help with my design, and thanks to Fins who has already made mockups!

Agreed, not a waste at all. I like the traditional look also. Nice job on your design.

Re: Tropicana Cuba BC Mockups

Absolutely and 'back in the day' is what really counts when it comes to Cuban casinos.

Here are a few from my collection - all with $ symbols.

4T18 is available on the Forge, it's the last option IIRC.

You chips bodies are nice and restrained, though I must say maybe a bit too restrained, bordering on boring. It's find to do something very tasteful but these seem to be a bit too far on the slow side of safe. Just one man's opinion. The inlay is good, with the provisio that you add the bit at the bottom you referred to. If you want to be bad ass maybe you could do "Tropicana Caberet y Casino - Habana,Cuba"

I wear brown shoes with a black belt so take what I say with a grain of salt.
