Do we even need it with our so helpful community? Or is it a good thing for those members that desire to get "something back" for their help?

May be a good idea. Seems okay the way it is now, though.
With the awesome CT community all one has to do is just post what you want and within hours there are dozens of replies from helpful members.
On the other hand, maybe allowing a separate 'hiring' thread where the designer is compensated with a sample set of the chips would be a good idea....Maybe $10 worth of the chips designed?

I'm happy that there's a nice, developed developed community out there, but I've never expected something for nothing. Keeping in a seperate place makes people like me feel like they're not just barging in somewhere they may not be welcome and sticking their hand in the cookie jar. |

Myself, if I had a design I needed made, I know who here could handle it. I'd try a PM first... But for the newcomers who don't know who is who, it would be a good place to start.

I think it would be more organized no matter which way it goes to have it in a seperate area where people can discuss their artwork/changes etc in one area on CT
My two cents

My two cents | My understanding is this would posts by people looking for designers, not designers looking for jobs. Just a way to consolidate the posts that pop up in other categories. |

There are two schools that float around here:
One that does the design work for free or for just a sample set or other minimal contribution. And the other is for designers that expect to be compensated for their work.
This forum would be good for both of those groups.
I do not think that designers that are looking to make a significant profit should be able to post seeking business. But a thread with each designers OP showcasing thier work would be nice to see.

Being someone who has help a number of people with their designs I've either responded to a request for help and asked for nothing in return but have been sent a samples etc or been contacted by PM.
