Chips: 1,226 | | | Interested in taking part in a trade group? What type? See this thread http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/collec...rade-ring.html regarding an interest thread I put up about a potential UFC (unidentified flying chip) trade ring. It's something that Gaming Ore wrote about a long time ago that piqued my interest.
There's a lot of interest, but the discussion has run the gamut about just what types of chips should be included. Some don't have UFCs. Some don't want to lose money on trades. Lots of good points were made and it now looks like we might want to start at least a few trade rings.
Please peruse the other thread and then answer the poll about your interest.
TIA.

Chips: 3,270 | | | Re: Interested in taking part in a trade group? What type? I cast my votes for Casinos and Customs because I know I have the chips for equitible trades in those categories. I'm still unsure if I have any UFCs but once I figure it out I would probably participate in that category as well.
What about Foreign Chips? They fall under the Casino/Obsolete Casino category but I'm not sure they would be an equal trade for Amreican casino chips.

Chips: 1,226 | | | Re: Interested in taking part in a trade group? What type? I believe that foreign would count the same as casino. There is a valuation issue, but foreign valuations are super tough to figure out anyway.
You bring up a terrific point though relative to just what a UFC is. Basically it's a chip that you don't know the origin of. Here are some of my UFC traders.
Here's a scan containing a few illegals and what can best be described as UFCs (Unidentified Flying Chips).
From top left to right:
Ding How Paulson Hat & Cane mold - might be an illegal, not sure
Horseshoe T mold
The Vapors Diamond mold (I later learned that this was an Illegal casino so it's not really a UFC any longer)
2 UFCs that I have no clue about
PJs Table Two - again, might be an illegal
2 'K' with wreaths and Horse Head Left mold
2 RCC chips with HHR mold Quote:

Chips: 1,226 | | | Re: Interested in taking part in a trade group? What type? As typically happens with these polls, I forgot a big one - personal chips. Any interest in a personal chip trade ring? Please write in your vote for that one if so. If need be we can probably just launch several of these maybe with a different volunteer coordinator for each one. Coordinator only has to really do the exchanging of address info in order to keep that stuff private.
What do you guys think?

Chips: 96 | | | Re: Interested in taking part in a trade group? What type? I would be interested in being in a trade ring for casino chips. My preference would be to do a round robin type trade ring because I don't have the base of traders to trade more than a couple (I didn't click your link Jamby (I think you were looking at the shotgun type, but the RR type is in the collectors forum somewhere). I don't have any UFC's or customs.
It wouldn't hurt my feelings if I was left out, but I would like to take part.

Jamby - I'm pretty sure that PJ's chip is an illegal from a club that was in Saratoga, NY. If I can find the link with it's info, I'll post it. |

What do you guys think? | Sounds good. I'll step in and volunteer to coordinate the customs trade ring list. |

Chips: 3,497 | | | Re: Interested in taking part in a trade group? What type? I'm interested in a round robin but not a shotgun. For the most part, I only have $1 casino chips to trade. We'd need to establish some ground rules concerning condition and duplications.
