ChipTalk Time Capsule idea
How about a ChipTalk Time Capsule thread? Or a whole dedicated Time Capsule forum? We can run a thread for the month of December, and then it gets locked away for 1, 5, or more years. Then we move it back to the public forums on New Years of whatever year.
What would be in the thread? I don't know. Predictions? State of affairs at CT/Chip Industry/casinos etc? I just like the subject of time capsules in general and thought this might be a nifty thread for New Years.

Interesting idea. Instead of locking it up on New Year's Day, how about CT's birthday?

That sounds good too. Time's getting short for New Year's........but it could still be done. Could accept ideas and entries in the thread up through midnight New Year's Day?? If not - let's go for CT's Birthday. Could start the thread now, and lock it up on March ??

Re: idea for an interesting New Years thread.
I still think that this is a good idea and would be interesting to see sort of a "year in review". Why don't we start it on March 1st... end it on March 31st and move it for 1 year. I think 5 years might be too long. Then the following year when we start the new one, we can also re-open/bump the old one and so on...
We can open it up to pictures of sets, a list of all the new chips that came into being in the hobby, headlines, stories, quotes, etc.
Let me know if I can help out in any way.

I like locking it up on CT's birthday, March 21.

Ditto, I think that would be just fine...
How should we get this thing started?
Ten, do you want to introduce this to the masses?

Re: idea for an interesting New Years thread.
I created a new forum, it's hidden to everyone but us. I moved this thread into it. When the time comes, we can just move this forum into the public area, then move it back when the time limit is up.

Re: idea for an interesting New Years thread.
Woops, we forgot to move this out into the public on March 21st.
So here it is, although a little late. I just moved this into a public forum.
What do you all think about this idea?
This thread is for discussing the idea. If we decide to do it we'll create a new thread for the actual Time Capsule contribution posts/threads.
How long should we keep the Time Capsule forum open for people to contribute?
How many years should we lock it up before we reopen it to look at what we posted?
Should we create a guidelines on what type of posts are to be made in the Time Capsule forum?
