Since it is a CASH buyin for $10, I am assuming that you win the cash back if you place in the money. And the chiptalk chips are just bonus for the top 3?

You win whatever the posted prize is on pokerstars for that tournament. It shows about 10 minutes after the start what the prizes will be for which places. You don't get your entry fee ($10 in this case) in addition to the prize for that place, what is shown is the total you get for that place.
Right. Yeh, the way I wrote that was kinda confusing now that I re-read it. I didn't mean that I would get the $10 back, but that there were cash payouts also. Since I am considering signing up exclusively to play the CT tourney's, does pokerstars offer sign-up bonus'? I can't seem to find any mention of them anywhere on there site.
Occasionally they will run a special offer where you get a 20% bonus for a new deposit and earn a qualifying number of Frequent Player Points. Don't think they are running any right now but that can change at any moment.
