This forum is meant for posting OFFICIAL ChipTalk.net contests and tournaments only. Any new contest or tournament sponsored by an outside entity (this is fine) must organize the event with TenPercenter in order to get approval for posting.

We encourage sponsored contests, they are a great benefit to everyone involved. PM or email Tenpercenter (see links at bottom of this post) to have an event organized and coordinated.

Any other discussion post is fine as long as it is not promoting a new contest or tournament.

We are fairly past the point of having to remind everyone about the rules requiring "OFFICIAL" status of contests being posted. I myself forgot about the above post, until I saw it while trolling for Tourney threads. Apparently I never "Stuck" it. Note the date... shortly after this site was born.

We need to agree on some guidelines. The mods are discussing it right now but contests keep getting posted.

Basically we'll welcome any contest or giveaway that's small and fun in nature like "Free chip giveaway!" or "Chip Lottery" ... AS LONG AS that person making the offer does not have commercial interests relating to our industry. "Good Will" is advertising too, and it's not fair to the paying sponsors for their competitors to get the freebies.

So please run all contests by an admin or mod unless you fit the above allowed criteria?

We updated the FAQ regarding contests. Nothing new... just moving policies to the FAQ instead of in stickies. Now UN-sticking this thread.
