How about paid 10% of total player after all this is TenPercenter's site. | heh, I'm pretty sure that's a joke, but just in case it's not:
players = payout
10 = 1
20 = 2
30 = 3
40 = 4
50 = 5
yikes... as it approaches 60 players it would make sense but for 20 it would be ROUGH.

Chips: 111 | | | Yes, I was just pulling his leg but in reality, I would suggest adding 1 paid off spot for every 10 players past 30. |

Chips: 11,925 | | | I'm probably opening myself to an argument, but I think the structure is more than adequate. Based on the numbers, if we opened up the payouts, the last place person (in some cases) would win, maybe 10 dollars more than he bought in for. If I wanted odds like that, I'd go play a cash game.
I don't know about everyone else, but winning money in these games is gravy. The reason I'm there is I get to play against a bunch of folks that share similar interests, and have a great time doing it. The chat during the games can get pretty lively and it's fun to discuss the play in the forums. It's not like I'm cashing out my winnings, or even using Pokerstars for anything other than these tournaments. My third place finish essentially paid for all my entries thus far.
Keep it the way it is, it's working just fine.

Chips: 14,331 | | | I'm with Matty on this one. Getting in the money is just a bonus. This is about playing poker with some friends. The talent is above average and you'll definitely sharpen your game playing against your fellow ChipTalkers.
Even the proposed payouts don't really make much difference. One or two more paid spots really don't do much to make people "happy" anyway - the money won is usually only enough to refund the buyin.
Currently I have accounts on Party/Empire, PokerStars, Pacific, FullTilt, and UltimateBet. I only have funds at the first two - for good reason. The games are softest at Party/Empire and the tournies are best at PokerStars. At this point I'm not likely to be interested in funding too many other sites.

Chips: 6,131 | | | I know it's a friendly game, I would think that would be the reason to payout more places. I would like to see it moved to Partypoker if they can provide a payout structure that is fair.
Would you honestly play in a live 24 player tournament if it only paid 3rd? That's just bad odds. All 2 table sng's online that I have seen pay 4th. I don't understand how we can have more players and less payouts. |

If it is a friendly game, which it is for me, then money is not the reason I come to play. Heck, I would play in play-money tournaments with you guys, just to play against you.
And just for argument's sake, a 2 table sng is 18 people on Stars, and 20 on Pokerroom. Both of those pay top three.
If you aren't cool with the way things are being done, I suggest you start another Chiptalk.net poker night on Party. Kudos again to chipper, for actually getting this ramped up, it's a highlight of my Thursday nights!

I'll stop beating the dead horse. | You're not, I fully agree. If a 9 person 1 table pays 3 places, then a 2+ table 20+ tourney should CERTAINLY pay more. At least 4.

Chips: 6,131 | | | I just called Partypoker -- they will only do private cash ring games, not private tournaments. So unless there's another site that everyone would trust, it's pretty much a dead issue. |
