My brother and I are running a pool. Hoping to get 10 chiptalkers, but I'd LOVE to get more. Should be mainly chiptalk people (depending on how many I get), with my brother and a couple neighbors.
Here is a
totally different NCAA pool to get involved in. I've run these before, and they are a ton of fun, compared to the normal bracket wagers. Instead of picking teams and filling out brackets, you are drafting individual players.
You will select 12 players from the field of 65 teams. You are awarded points based on their cumulative stats throughout the tournament. So, obviously, the longer their team makes it, the more points they can pick up.
Here is how you score points:
1 point for each point scored, each rebound, and each assist.
So, a player who scores 15 points, grabs 8 rebounds, and 4 assists would score 27 points for that game (15 + 8 + 4).
Here are the rules for picking players:
You can have NO MORE THAN 3 players on #1 seeded teams
You can have NO MORE THAN 3 players on #2 and #3 seeded teams (combined)
You can have NO MORE THAN 3 players on #4 and #5 seeded teams (combined)
There are no restrictions on where the rest of your players come from (#6-#16 seeds). There are also no restrictions for having more than one player on the same tourney team.
The only exceptions to the rules above are as follows: If you don’t use up to the max in one category, you can go over the max by that amount in the lower category. For instance, if you only pick 2 players from #1 seeded teams (your max was 3), you can now choose up to 4 players on #2 and #3 seeded teams, combined. And so on. If you don’t understand this, you can email me for a better explanation.
One little “bonus”: If you have a player on a #13-#16 seed, their points count DOUBLE, for all their games.
Picks are due Thursday by noon. When all entries are in, I will put everything into an excel spreadsheet and email it to all those involved on Thursday afternoon.
$10 per entry. Check or paypal (plus .50 to cover paypal fees

)
Payouts will likely be:
70% for 1
st>
20% for 2

10% for 3

If you're not a die-hard NCAA fan and say "I don't know that many players", I'll help if you ask. Also, you can just look at your bracket, pick out some of your favorite teams, and easily pick the best player on that team.
