Chips: 3,643 | | | weekly Thursday tournament eligibility This has been on my mind since last week's tournament. Last week was the first tournament I played in in that quarter. Finishing ahead of a few people who were on the bubble for the QTOC probably had an affect on who got in. I know if I won it, Scottwire would not have qualified for the QTOC and punk101 (I believe) would have. I realize having fresh blood in there elevates the prize pool, but is it a good idea to have the situation exist where a newbie can have such an affect on the QTOC? As I type this, I realize a similar situation exists in the PGA and Nascar (and probably other sports), where non-chase competitors can affect the outcome, but generally those participants have been involved for the whole season. Anyway, anyone have any thoughts on this?
I just hope I played Scott properly and to the best of my ability so he didn't "unfairly" end up with his spot. |

I want to get back to 45+ players a week, I hope you deciede to play in more. That goes for anyone on the site. Play 1, play 12, just play.

I have to agree. Come one, come all! The only time a newbie (or anyone else for that matter) would have a negative impact is if there were chip dumping. That said, we're not playing for millions here so I seriously doubt that sort of thing would happen.
Like Jeff said, would really like to see the turnout get back to 45+ players. We've been in the 40-44 range several times and those poor souls that finish 6th-9th would have really appreciated a couple more entrants! |

Jeff | for sure. in addition, this is a situation where the jojo rule of feasibility comes into play. it goes like this: if the problem has marginal affect and no solutions seem very effective or reasonable to implement, then we should assume that the problem is better left unaddressed. |

All that matters is that Scott needed to win the tourney to qualify for the QTOC. The fact that you were his heads-up opponent is largely irrelevant. I mean, someone had to finish in the top two.
