Player from our home group cashes in WSOP Event #3 Several months ago, we did a SnG type tourney with a $150.00 buy in to send someone to the WSOP and play a $1,500 event of his choice. The entire table got a share of the winners money and had some stake in him, when he went to play the WSOP event of his choice.
The cash wasn't huge, ($3800 or so) placing 221, out of just under 3,000 players, and outlasting several notable Pro players. He played in Event 3.
The players in the orig. SnG get some of his action (2nd place, 5% of winning, 3-10th, split 10%) so again, it's not a huge amount, but for a player from our group, to cash in his *first* WSOP event, is pretty notable.
Everyone in our group has a new buzz about tournament poker, once again. |

Schweet! I'd never thought of running a local satellite for a WSOP event. Great idea!
